Maybe I'll get flamed for this. But I would like to step on this soapbox.
I really do dislike any categorizing of boards as boring, exciting, lame, etc. I mean seriously I don't understand the rejoicing of a board imploding. What is the goal here? For everyone to post on ML? MMM?
I post on all different boards (H&F, MM, MMM, CEP) based on what my interests are at the moment. Personally, I think just posting on one board all the time is a little boring.
Insulting an entire board is just so petty and mean girls. If you don't like a board, don't post. Easy! But reigning over another board in superiority is just silly.
No one has been really "rejoicing" in anyone's implosion. Observing, yes. Commenting on, maybe every few months?
I definitely think MMM can be boring. When I find it boring, I post elsewhere. If everyone finds it boring, it will die. And that's really okay. It's not that important.
Honestly, I think the biggest recent killer to the MM board is the "you can't talk about THAT" rule that came about post giant-confessions controversy. One juicy thing happened and it was STOMPED OUT hard.

That was kind of sad. MM does lack in juicy stuff, but most people are probably boring like me. Drama free. Or way too chicken to post any real juicy stuff.
I don't know, I feel like people LOVE to say how boring and lame MM is. It annoys me too, as I still like it and always hope for a renaissance. The observations just feel like people are rooting against it, and categorizing anyone who still enjoys it as lame and boring.
It reminds me of when it seemed my sorority was dying soon after I graduated. It was sad to see something I really enjoyed struggling so much. (They did, in fact, have a renaissance of sorts and are now thriving.)
No one's dancing around a fire rubbing their hands in glee. And "mean girl" what am I 13?
Wait....is that at my meme?
Sorry, I should have posted this instead. Stop trying to make a board war happen. We have already hugged it out. My apologies if the mean girl meme was insensitive. I didn't post it to try to insinuate that you are a mean girl. I don't think you are. I posted it because I always have that quote in my head of "stop trying to make fetch happen". Is this one better?
I didn't quote her. I posted a link to a thread she (and others) had posted in. Again, it was not meant to be a huge callout -- just a "here is an example of a post where people showed animosity towards MM."
It drives me crazy when I get notifications that I've been tagged for stupid mentions, so I tend to be conservative on my tagging.
(I didn't have to tag you here even though I quoted you, right?)

Except in the were you an MM regular thread you posted my words with " ".
Stop acting brand new.
No, I posted tokenhoser's words with "". In direct response to tokenhoser.

Why does it drive you crazy? That seems to be an excessive reaction.

I don't mind being tagged.
I like knowing when people are talking about me.
I don't know, I just feel that I should be tagged when someone has a question for me or has a particular reason for me to read or respond to the post. I get bummed when I see that I've been tagged and think it will be something exciting and it is "I'm using the shampoo that v and [@ 5 other people recommended]" type stuff. Just a personal annoyance, that's all. We all have those.

It seems to me that is a person's way of thanking you for the shampoo recommendation.

Damn I'm sorry v @tokenhoser and I are so alike I can't even tell her words from mine!
Nope, not your words. And quoted in direct response to the person who had originally written them, and who would therefore very likely see that she was quoted.
Which is why, as I said, this is all ridiculous. But thanks for insulting me and trying to turn this board against me!

lol. She apologized and you take it as an insult? Turning the board against you? Oh man. Mean girls at 13 indeed. Woo wee.

Ftr- as a past/present, but not loyal participant to both boards I find this whole thing to be hilarious and ridiculous at the same time.
THERE IS NO ANIMOSITY BETWEEN THE BOARDS. MMM IS NOT RELISHING IN THE DOWNFALL OF MM. I DON'T THINK ANYONE GIVES A FUCK EITHER WAY. THE ACTIVITY ON MM OR LACK THEROF IS NOT MMM'S FAULT/RESPONSIBILITY.

I did not take her apology (which she has now mostly rescinded) as an insult. I took her many insults in this thread as insults.
I will be sure that next time I link to a prior post, I tag everyone who participated in the linking post. Lesson learned!
I was willing to let this die pages ago (okay, I was ready to let this whole issue die in the other thread last night before this post was even started but alas, I'm not the one who started this thread). But at any rate, letting it die now. Will not post further in this thread.
I like MM, MMM, and getting tagged. I am not sure where this leaves me, but I am just going to keep posting on both boards until one or the other runs me off. Frankly, I want to see MM stay active and make a conscious effort to post there.
