It's so bad by me that entire schools are closing and every third patient admitting to the hospital is positive for influenza A. A GI bug is also causing problems.
My body feels like it got hit by a truck. I'm shaking my fist at the cdc and their lousy guess at the vaccine strain this year.
My husband was sick for five days over Thanksgiving and I managed to keep E and I from getting it. Two weeks back at work and I'm down. This is only the second year I got the flu shot and I am not happy. I'm also just praying that somehow E got the immunity from me even though I clearly did not.
I had the flu once in my life 10 years ago and it was AWFUL. I feel your pain and hope you get better soon! At least you should be on the mend by Xmas.
We got our shots. DS got some sort of URI anyway- he seemed way sicker than a garden variety cold. Poor thing missed 2 days of work during the super busy season. DH seems to be coming down with it now. I'm washing my hands at least hourly, sleeping on the couch and wiping everything down with Lysol wipes.
Ugh. Yeah everyone around me is sick, including clients and their families.
I've been taking echinacea and emergen-c like its my job, but I don't know how much longer I can fight it!! I woke up with that "I'm getting sick" feeling, so hopefully it doesn't escalate or Christmas will suck.
I'm sorry! I hope you feel better! I was sick about 24 hours (fever, body aches, chills, etc) then a couple days later, all 3 of my kids were diagnosed with the flu that lasted about a week.
ETA: my oldest had the vaccine, but the babies have not due to an egg allergy.
I've been trying to fight something ever since I went to a 2 year old birthday party 2 weeks ago. Every kid there was sick, so I went home and bathed in Lysol and overdosed on emergen-c. I found out yesterday that half of the kids and parents at that birthday party now have the flu, so I'm super paranoid since I've never had the flu or a flu shot *knocks on wood*. Last night I thought I was done though... my throat hurt, my ears hurt, felt feverish, lower back hurt, etc, but woke up and was fine.
I hope all you ladies who are sick feel better :-(

Ugh, that sucks. I hope you feel better soon.
DD and I have had a head cold that is just lingering at this point. It's been almost two weeks; I'm so over it.
Everyone around us, my coworkers, kids, friends, are sick. Where I live there is the flu, a stomach bug, and (according to the local news) meningitis going around. I seriously want to put everyone in my family in their own, individual bubbles for the rest of the season.
I've been sick like 3 times this cold//flu season already. Normally it's once if at all. It's been awful. My coworkers on my team have experienced the same. We have taken turns being out sick. I don't remember it ever being this bad or ever getting sick so much.
It could also have to do with the fact that after moving to SF I use public transportation in to get around the city and therefor am always in the Petri dish of the BART lol

DD was diagnosed with RSV last week and then got an ear infection. DS had a minor cough for a couple days, but never got as bad as DDs. I was feeling like I was coming down with something last week too, maybe a mild cold or maybe just allergies, but I took a shit ton of Airborne and feel a lot better. The kids both feel better too already even though the pedi warned DD would be feeling terrible for like three weeks and DS was definitely going to get it too. Hopefully that's it. ::knocks on wood::

We have something very flu like going around. Congestion, coughing, body aches, fever. DH had it for over a week. He ran a fever for about three days. He did not test positive for the flu though and he did get a flu shot. Emerg c has been my friend. I've been faithfully taking it since DH got sick.
Yep, it's bad this year. We all had a stomach virus the weekend after Thanksgiving. H & I were down for a few days each. It took a good two weeks for E to return to normal. H is now at the end of a cold, which is currently residing in his chest with a gross cough. Fingers crossed that E & I avoid it, but my throat has been scratchy so we'll see. Influenza is bad here. Multiple people at work have been out and tested positive and it's in E's daycare. I hate that it feels like it's only a matter of time. Especially since the vaccine isn't working well this year.
My throat has been scratchy for 2 days...before that, I was waking up with a really, really sore/dry throat--I knew I'd been sleeping with my mouth open. This mean's I'll probably be getting sick around Christmas. I'm doing everything I can to avoid it! Zicam, Emergen-C, lots of water and sleep...
My husband had an upper respiratory infection at the end of October. He was down for a week.
Oh no!!!! I've been taking my vitamins and apple cider vinegar. I swear by ACV. If I take it faithfully I don't get sick. One tablespoon a day really helps your immune system.
