Thanks for the reply. I googled it and had seen only the purple sets, so that makes sense. I'm going to try to score the Frozen set that people are talking about over on ML. (I actually tried to get it earlier and couldn't, then was all "wait -- they want lego FRIENDS, not lego. WTH?" So, thanks.
Tangent alert: I'm not sure whether I'm happy that girls want to play with legos or sad that they only want the "girly" ones. I have such mixed feelings about toys for which there is a generic version (often preferred by boys) and a "girl" version which is usually pink/purple. I want pink/purple to not mean "girly" or "for girls" anymore, but the only way to do that is to buy the girl version of everything for boy children, which I just don't see happening for 99% of people.
People keep telling my husband he's a thinner version of Phillip Seymour Hoffman. I don't like it because I think my H is way better looking . Love googles? Lol

Or just buy the generic for everyone. I'm not sure I'll be willing to buy my DD the purple legos. (So why will I do it for my nieces?)

My preference is to buy "regular" Lego for everyone, but if someone asks for Lego Friends, I'm not boycotting it or anything. They tend to be more imaginative play focused and less building focused.

Yeah, I mostly get DD the generic or even boy versions of things, but I made an exception for this because I couldn't find a generic one that would ship in time for Christmas (was shopping kind of late): www.amazon.com/dp/B00005850G. So she gets the girly one. I mean, girly isn't bad, it's just not my taste. If DC2 ends up being a boy he'll play with it too when he's old enough.
This is a question, but it's random so hopefully thread-appropriate: what is the difference in "lego" vs. "lego friends"? My nieces want lego friends; I don't even know what this means.
@supergreen most of us want to take a sock of oranges to your H but it's because we really care about you and want things to get better. We are here to support you, wishing you the best.
The backhoe is back tonfill around the foundation for thre house next door. Dd is going to FREAK with excitement when she wakes up! I also figured out who dropped off the toy tractor for DD a few weeks ago. The foreman for the house next door (who also built our house 5 years ago) dropped it off. So sweet. In going to bake him cookies :-)
Are you not supposed to take children to liquor stores? I need vodka for Christmas morning bloody marys.
I recently took DD to a liquor store while she was wearing a Sofia The First costume. Everyone talked about how cute she was. So, try bringing your kids in costume.
