MIL wants a coach factory bag for Xmas as per SIL. I dont know a lot about this line, but is the quality ok? I'm worried it's a noticeably cheaper version of a coach bag. Thoughts?
I've only ever purchased from the Coach Outlet stores, where the quality seems to be about the same. But from what I understand, the styles they sell in those stores are made exclusively for the outlets. Are you buying in person or online?

I have some bags from the Coach Outlet that are fine. They do tend to have a lot of "signature" stuff and less nice leather, but they are good for the price, and they have good deals.

We'd be buying in person. So, just so I understand - coach factory is only sold at outlets? And also because I've never been to a coach outlet, these stores sell both Coach and Coach Factory? The label will say 'factory'?

Thank you for the info, glad to hear the bags hold up well. MIL wants one of the leather ones, I hope it's not hard to find!
I've gotten a couple bags from my local Coach Factory Store. At least one of them was a Coach bag from several season's ago. Often the accessories are previous season stuff.

Thank you for your help.
None of the items I have purchased at the outlet (which they just changed to "factory") has the word "factory" on it, and all have held up just as well as the items I have purchased at the Coach store. I have noticed lately that the quality of their leather purses at the factory is very cheap feeling and looking, so looking in store is the best way to go.

I only buy from the factory and rarely do my items actually have a serial number that starts with an F meaning it's just for factory. My factory store also gets items from the regular store as extra items and usually only have one or two of that specific item. I'm hard on bags and have to wear out a coach factory bag so I'm guessing the quality isn't a whole lot lower.

I have felt this way too. I am disappointed in how the leather has become there.
I was at a Coach outlet last Friday and the discounts aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be. I know the company is trying to get away from deep discounts though. This is a store that normally has a line to get in and is packed once inside. Last week there was no line and I went in twice during the day and it was quiet both times. There was only 1 bag I liked but I felt it wasn't a good deal so I left with nothing.
