I got a Christmas card from friends and my first thought was how not cute their kid is. This is what happens when cards are all pictures and no words, people.
I haven't done laundry in like... 2 months. (Well, I haven't done my hang dry laundry)
I am still going strong on clothes to wear. I am getting down to stuff I don't like as much so I'll have to do something about this soon. Also, I think this means I need a serious sort of closet purge.
Another confession: One of my coworkers, who I used to work with and sort of supervise years ago in another kind of work, told me that he wants to set me up with someone in his program because he's "sick of seeing me hurt." I told him I was open to talking with the guy and at least establishing a friendship, but now I've met these other interesting men and don't want to end up crafting an awkward situation at work.

I rolled my eyes at a Christmas card I got last night. It was pics of P's friends (wifey is preggo). The pictures were total cheese. I felt bad until P saw it and said "Oh, god."

I don't feel bad for thinking friend's kid is going through an ugly phase. It must be rough for a two year old.

There are pro pictures of DD that I call "her awkward period". I had them up in my office and was very glad I was able to replace them.

Another confession: we have to do layoffs. Instead of cutting a position, we wanted to reduce the hours of 2 people. They aren't really busy and the number of clients they see does not justify how many hours they work. We've been fighting with Senior Admin for a year, trying to make this happen. They *finally* agreed yesterday to let us do this.
The confession part? I'm secretly gleeful about it because they are both gossipy and troublemakers. They walk around like they are untouchable because their boss goes to great lengths to protect them. Hold on to your hats! Because things are about to change!
Thanks! It didn't *totally* work out as Admin said it wasn't enough and we had to make cuts in other areas. We agreed to start a plan to reduce the reception staff from 3 to 2. Although, I'm hoping it works out because one of them is applying to med school so hopefully he gets accepted before we have to lay him off.
We bought our tree almost two weeks ago. The first week it was outside on the patio. And then it was in the stand leaning in the corner until last night when the three of us finally got the damn thing secure in the stand. Now we can finally decorate.
I made 4 or 5 (I lost track!) panicked Amazon prime orders yesterday trying to get my shit together for Christmas. I might be able to pull this off and get everything shipped up north on time.

Same here. Instead of waiting a few hours and making one big order I just kept submitting them as I was afraid something might sell out.

Mr UPS is really going to love me next week.
I've found that they're sometimes smart enough to pack things from separate orders in the same shipment, if the orders were placed close enough together.

Yes, I've had this happen before too, which made me feel a bit better about it. I was just rapid firing things off, and then 20 minutes later I'd think of something else. H gets the emails and was like, ummm, busy morning?

Yeah, ummm based on the emails filing up my account I think they are coming in several shipments.
I am currently taking a class on global warming, environmental issues and reducing our carbon footprint. I should probably not reveal to my teacher all the shipping boxes headed my way from the same place. LOL!!
I am only outing myself because PPD is headed this way and she may see it. Two years ago, PPD had me for SS and she sent me all sorts of yummy edibles and ingestibles, including 2 bottles of local beer. One of them, we drank right away. The other was not consumed that winter for reasons I do not remember and then was not consumed over the summer because it is clearly a beer to be enjoyed in cold weather and then winter came around and I guess I just forgot about it. Anyhow, you see where this is going. Yes, I still have the beer in my fridge, and yes, I am appropriately ashamed.
