So I never did these, but I was thinking I wanted to do them for my 30th birthday - more for myself than H. I know lots of people like Jenny GG so I'd like to use her, but had a few questions:
- I thought maybe a group of you guys did it together? Was this for a reason? (discount?) -> do other people want to do one next year? - What time of year is best? (not wedding season?) - Cost? - What did you do for hair/makeup?

I did mine with Kate McElwee, but I remember this.... I think they did them together for moral support. I know sarack and jennlin have done them with Jenny GG. I don't know about others.
Time of year - I think they would appreciate a non wedding time, I am sure any week day is fine I got my make up done at the MAC counter, hair was natural. I wanted that rolling around in bed look. LOL and to save $ on some fab Laungerie.
I'll post a link to her blog entry if I can find it, but it was so long ago I'm not sure if it is still there.
I know @uwhuskygirl's were phenomenal, too. I didn't have the money around wedding time and H was MEH about the whole concept (which hurt my heart a little bit). I was wanting to do them for myself but keep gaining weight :/

karebear219 - ok, I wasn't sure if it had to do with paying for the hotel room? I don't even know how this works/how much things cost. And I forgot about Kate, I'd be interested to know what her package was.
@ksta I don't think my H cares about it either, so who knows if I'll even show him You could do it with me! (well not 'with me' but you know, lol)
I did mine with my wedding photog. She had a vendor/friend that did my hair and make up on site.
I'd like to throw out the option that if you have to go find your own hair and make up to try Swink Style Bar at U-Vill, there's also one Downtown. They did my hair and make up for E-pics and it was fantastic.
I know Belle B, does like mini sessions 2-3 times a year. She will probably have them around Valentine's day.
It was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend doing it and Jenny.
I don't remember how much it was because I paid for them at the same time as our family pics, but I think a few hundred and that included 20 or 25 retouched images and Jenny rents the hotel room.
I know Jenny GG often does some kind of marathon day where she rents the hotel room and then people have time slots and then there's a little bit of a deal?

I also did mine with Jenny GG in January or February before my wedding (these were a wedding gift for DH). I just did them at her studio and was super happy with them. I got my hair done at Gene Juarez and then went to Nordstrom and just scheduled a makeover and bought a few products as a result. this was before I had met anyone here, I was just going off of my lurking posts. I agree that it's totally worth the money.

I had mine done about 7 years ago and I ended up giving them to H as his wedding gift since I did some in his BDU's. I believe I found the girl on the bump at the time and she has since moved but she did great. I was my heaviest ever at the time and she made me feel/look awesome. I completely say go for it. She also had a girl there that did hair and makeup if we wanted.
apparently I turned 30 poorly! I think all I did was have an ACTUAL party (out at a bar).
No, I'm pretty sure you win. I actually cried when I turned 30.
I had a loosely-based 20s theme party to say goodbye to my twenties and we went to a speakeasy and I wore a dress that likes to nip slip. At least 3 guests didn't make it as they couldn't find the speakeasy. *BUT* I didn't get bpics or expensive shoes!! DO OVER
