My brother got in from California this evening so a bunch of us surprised him at a local brewpub. M was a fucking nightmare. We walked around with him so he could run off energy, but he eventually just lost his mind and we had to leave.
Sucking on cough drops and waiting until the end of this show so I can head to bed. I have a hair appointment tomorrow and I'm determined not to cancel.
Neither of my kids napped today, so that's always special. At 6:50 dd2 went and dug through her laundry basket and then returned with a pair of pjs. Sooooo they're now asleep and dh is watching a violent movie and I'm here, waiting for 9 so that I can go to bed at a reasonable hour.
I have given my kid six million medications tonight. Nebulizer treatment, inhaler, liquid steroids (which he spat in my face) and then he requested "teeth nummies" aka Advil and "chest medicine" aka Babyganics chest rub.
I also just took both anti- and pro- biotics and a Vicodin because my sinuses are infected again.
We are hopefully leaving for pa tomorrow at noon, or whenever dh gets done doing some last minute work things.
Went to target today and got the lego frozen castle and a veggie tale and paw patrol movie I can whip out if the drive gets bad. Since we are leaving late we are going to have to stop at a hotel. Two adults, two kids and a dog in one room. Kill me. But it's better than waiting till the next morning to leave.

We were out late at a party for one of dh's colleague's. Ds1 literally (literally) ran in circles through the house with his BFF for 2 hours then melted down because we weren't leaving the house fast enough and he wanted to go home and sleep. I barely saw ds2 tonight at all, lots of ladies passed him around. Both kids were basically asleep before we left our host's driveway. Both kids promptly melted down when we got home and the car turned off.
I just went to one of DD3s parent observation days at ballet class. She did good but the boys in the class are insane...I felt bad for the teacher, she's got so much patience. Lol.
My kids had a half day today (2wks off now) & already are driving me nuts. I'm gonna have to lift the no screen time ban I put in them a month ago just so I don't kill them. They are cleaning the house spotless before that happens though.
After an unplanned day home together (long story short, our sitter had a minor emergency come up this morning so J had to take AJ to work with him for a few while I left the fairly boring professional development thing I didn't really want to be at anyway to pick him up and bring him back home), I determined AJ and I both needed to get the fuck out of the house so we met my friend, her H, and their little girl who's AJ's age at Whole Foods. The kids played in the play area, the three of us split a bottle of wine and supervised, and it was a lovely time...we'd probably still be there playing if AJ had his way, I had to drag him out of there.
Now I'm watching WWE Smackdown (shaddup) and getting ready to snuggle with the pups.
I'm on the couch for the second night in a row since I don't want to unbury the guest bed from Christmas central. DH has the flu and DS told me "you scared me because you screamed at me". I didn't scream but I did raise my voice (well, what's left of it) and it came out as a screechy mess. He has pushed a few too many buttons today.
Just hanging out for a change. DD and I made a lasagna earlier and did a puzzle while it was baking. 2 baths and the little guy to bed. Put DD to bed who is a hot mess. She hasn't slept since Wednesday night (was up every 20 last night). She's been out twice but H is handling.
H and I are relaxing. I'm having wine, watching TV, reading magazines, enjoying my tree.
Trying to convince H his Mom should babysit so we can do something kidless tomorrow. He doesn't want to for no real reason.

Both kid are asleep, but I'm hiding in Nods room to be really sure. My husband gets the next 6 days off and only had to work Friday next week. It's going to be nice having him around. I'm hoping Nods will get over only wanting me to do bed and nap time with her.
@justdairy silence is my FAVORITE sound! Especially when booze is involved.
Y'all... I feel the urge to go on a totally unhealthy bender. What I really want is to go back to the swanky resort we stayed at in Tucson, but this time without H. I want to lay by to pool, read, speak to no one and start drinking at 2pm. Then starfish in a bed for an afternoon nap, eat pizza for dinner and then drink and read until as late as I want.
Sadly. No. As close as in coming tonight is the tub on our tub/shower combo (having your stomach underwater in a bath is for the birds!) and a glass of wine while I read amongst DD's bath toys.
We are having a bunch of friends over to watch football this weekend so we are trying to get the house in order. We moved in about a month ago. I am excited for our first gathering in the new house but I think DH's head is going to explode! I'm on the couch at the moment taking a break from organizing crap.

I have gotten in DDs crib with her before. No real reason except to make her giggle.
DD went down easily tonight - she didn't take an afternoon nap she was wiped. I'm sitting on the floor, drinking wine, wrapping presents & watching TV. I just watched If I Stay... terrible. I read the book, and I can't remember it very well, but I know I read it in a day & I think I liked it. But the movie. No.
I am about to attempt these Rose Spritz cookies for a cookie exchange tomorrow. I also have to make mini cheesecakes for a family Christmas party, but I will probably wait until tomorrow. DH is playing video games, so I am probably going to listen to my book on tape while I bake.
I think my spider bite has started to improve. I saw my PCP today, and he took me off everything the urgent care dr prescribed. He said I might get some scarring though I am seriously fucking pissed because I have no idea when I got bitten by a spider. DH is still convinced it's from a brown recluse, since he found one in our garage 2 years ago. Whatever you do, don't google brown recluse bites. That is not what my face looks like.

I've climbed into the crib, too. I don't know what the weight limit is. Whoops.
DD (3) wears the same size socks as DS1 (almost 6). She's also wearing the pajamas he was wearing less than a year ago. I wonder if she'll be the same size as him when they hit puberty, since girls reach their full height earlier than boys.

I had an awesome day, and all I want to do now is drink wine and watch love actually. (DH is at work). Sadly, DD keeps faking the need for a trip to the potty, and is STILL AWAKE.
Also, DH keeps forwarding me texts and pics from his sister who bought a giant washer and dryer set for DD for Christmas, and he doesn't get why I'm cranky about it. Would she have appreciated such a gift for her boys?? I doubt it! Then why is it ok for dd? Because it's a "girl" toy? Ugh. And stereotypes aside, I think it's obnoxious to buy something that damn big for someone, unless they request it. DD will probably enjoy it, and at least it's not pink, but I'm upset about it.
I think I'm going to have to talk with H about how he responds to J. He is giving into her tantrums and stall tactics which just doesn't work.
You say time for pajamas, she sobs and says tent, you don't give her tent. You put on pajamas. You say bedtime and she says book, rock, hungry... That's a stall tactic.
Of course all he will hear is me criticizing him. Sigh.
I am currently at home nursing DS3 to sleep because the sitter (a new one) couldn't get him to bed. If I successfully get him to sleep, it's okay to go back out, right?

I haven't climbed in the crib. I mean let's be honest, that would take some major skillz. But I have cuddled in the crib once converted to a toddler bed. Apparently ours holds at least 180/190 pounds just fine.
