Did you know they don't like to give cough medicine for pneumonia? Coughing is apparently good for you. Jerks.
Hah, I do know that unfortunately, sorta. I had a nasty case of acute bronchitis 10+ years ago and they basically told me the same thing... coughing is your friend.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope the codeine helps you sleep!

Ugh, that sucks! I'm so sorry! And I did know that since my oldest has some breathing issues and when she's going through a flare up and not coughing she ends up hospitalized.
Boo. I am in urgent care waiting for the results to my strep test. Then if I have it I have to take DD in for a sick visit because she has been sick all week but is too young to tell me what hurts. Hoping she just has a cold, but I got this from her pretty sure.
Get better soon.

Ugh. Hope you get better soon, too.
This the season! On the fourth day of Christmas, my community gave to me four sleepless nights, three strep throats, 2 coughing kids, and bilateral pneumonia...
I'm at immediate care waiting for the results of my flu test.
It's probably gonna end up being nothing and they'll be all "drink some oj and sleep it off!" But everything hurrrrrrttttssss and I feel like my neck is the size of a Linebacker's cuz everything all up in there is swollen and sore, but no strep.
I was supposed to take my parents to dinner for their 40th anniversary tonight and H has his studio's holiday recital tomorrow and I have a deadline for some research I'm doing that needs to be done by Monday. No time to be sick dammit!

Oh bimbi.
I hope you are on the mend, too. Maybe if you rest up you can still make dinner at least.

Just as I suspected, no flu. They are giving me 800mg ibuprofen for the body aches. If you need me, I'll be on my couch!
I hope you feel better soon too, voodoo! A coworker just had pneumonia and it's no joke!!
I am sorry I had pneumonia this summer and it sucks so much. Get lots of sleep and I hope you feel better soon.
I was up literally almost all night. I was even posting here at 2:30 am. This is the worst.
and then I think of whooping cough. :shudder: This makes me want to get a booster for it.
Oh man. That codeine stuff doesn't knock you out at night? It's supposed to. When I was sick, my problem was the opposite - I could not do anything but sleep and lay on the sofa. I was so exhausted all the time, even walking from one room to another was a big effort. Walking up the stairs was like climbing a mountain.
But coughing is good even though it sucks - you've got to get all that stuff out of your lungs. So gross, but it's good for your recovery.
Can they give you something stronger for nighttime? You've got to sleep to get better!
I think I have the flu. High fever, aches, chills, Terrible cough. Everything hurts. This is day 3. I should have gone to the doc to see and get tamiflu but now it's too late.
Luckily DH took DS to his parents so I only have to watch the baby and she's not too much work. She will cuddle and watch TV with me.

It knocked me out but didn't keep me out. Blergh.
I think I am headed for a nice long snooze now though.
It is weird. I didn't have flu or anything associated with pneumonia, just a fantastic cold. But by Wednesday I was in bad shape.

You know, mine was the same way. I had this weird tickle in my throat/top of my chest, and I kept coughing but otherwise I felt okay. Then I got a fever, went to the doctor and bam, pneumonia. For five weeks.

5 weeks?! Oh man that's awful.
I'm on day 3 of the flu and I really hope I'm better in a week as we are going on holidays.
