Yeah we get a COL raise which is like 2-3% that is part of our performance review. Basically as long as you are meeting expectations you receive the raise.

lololol nope.
When I was employed, I HOPEFULLY got something at review time, but there were years with nothing. The last 3 years I was a contractor, so I actually ended up getting yearly pay decreases if I wanted to stay on with my team.
Now I'm a SAHM so I get increases - in laundry, germs (now that DD1 is in pre school), kisses/hugs, and trips to Walmart... wheeee

I work in education so we go up a "step" each year. But I've reached the top of the pay scale for my position. For the first time in 7 years, we are getting a COLA increase which is really nice. The next pay increase I'll get is when I hit 10 years in December '15. That's a 2.5% raise. But God help me if I'm still in my current job in a year. I need to do something new.
Long answer: In the past I would get anywhere from a 2-6% raise which accounted for both COL and performance. One year I got a 12% raise because I was promoted. Last year the firm was struggling so even though I had a great review I only got a 2% raise, my lowest ever. This year the rumor is that no raises will be handed out because things are in a bad way. Promotions are pretty much on a freeze right now too. Based on a meeting this past week I think I've reached the ceiling at my current place of employment. I'm debating what to do about that.

No
The largest raises I've received have always come when I've switched firms. I got a small raise (2%) last year but that was after nearly 5 years ! This year I'm not expecting one given the precarious health of my firm :/

Gov't bump for years of service. Can't remember if our COL raise has been un-frozen or not. I make so little that I'm not even sure to the thousand what my salary is.
