DH is watching some syfy snow armageddon movie and we saw two mail order bride commercials. I guess bad syfy movies on a Saturday night is their target audience?
Fuck. We've orchestrated this ENTIRE WEEKEND to give me time to wrap presents tomorrow. DH worked hard all day today so he would have tomorrow free to take DS while I wrapped. I just realized I didn't buy any wrapping paper. The closest store is an hour round trip, at least half of my wrapping time. DAMMIT.

We went to my mom's tonight for dinner and ended up playing cards against humanity and drinking. I now have a terrible stomach ache and a headache. Blah.
I want to build the kitchen helper my FIL got C for Christmas and use it this week so she can help bake and stuff. But my FIL doesn't arrive until the 27th. Tacky to ask if him if it's ok, right?
DD woke up late from her nap so we had some leftover soup for dinner (turkey meatball soup from skinny taste, delicious!) then got DD dressed in pjs and slippers, ran through the starbucks drive through for full fat hot chocolates with whip cream (naughty!) for us and a cookie for DD, then drove around looking at Christmas lights on fancy houses for almost 2 hours. DD had a blast! DH was much more into it than I thought he'd be, turning on the station with Christmas music and searching out the houses with the most lights for DD. Good, low-cost fun
I had planned to run to Target while DH put her to bed but I think I'm going to go to bed early and just get up and go in the morning. I'm beat. I should probably plan to start assembling Santa gifts and wrapping others after bedtime starting tomorrow so I'm not trying to do that and food prep on the 23rd.

DO you have any friends or neighbors closer? I'm a wrapping paper hoarder and would happily give you a few rolls, surely someone near you is one, too. Worth a try if you aren't particular about what it looks like!

I say this with love, and I know you have a lot going on, but you have got to learn how to chill out sometimes.
Do you have a Walgreens/CVS/anything like that close by? A grocery store? A tiny little Hallmark? A local gift shop?
Otherwise, make the best of your drive and get something fun to drink on the way home. Your H can handle your DS for an extra half an hour. Or wrap together for an hour after bedtime one night this week. Not a crisis.
(And I do not live close to any good stores. I am 30 minutes, one way, from Target. I get it.)

CVS/Walgreens??
Good idea! At least that's 30 minutes round trip instead of an hour for Target.

Newp, thanks for the idea though. We live in the boonies, far from town and any neighbors. I'm going to check my paper stash tomorrow and go from there.

I know, you're right. I'm just so Eeyore right now, between DH and I still half-angry about the snoring, my mirror breaking, and now this. I'm over-exaggerating I know.
J and I spent the day in Chicago with my mom. So tired. I also made myself sick stuffing my face with Garrett's popcorn. Yum, so tasty. I wish a 6 gallon tub wasn't $150, I'd be all over that.
MH has a man cold and is so annoying right now. He's got this annoying nasally snore going on that is horrible. I don't know if I'm going to be able to fall asleep.

I spent 8 hours bridesmaid dress shopping today. We finally picked a dress but man it was brutal. We went from each of the 5 girls getting to pick their own to everyone wearing the same dress. There was also yo-yo-ing in color & type of dress. Four fitting appointments & 3 stores later we had a decision.
Then no one could afford to pay for the damn dress in full today but me. Someone was required to pay in full so we could get 20% off. The order won't be placed until everyone pays. The wedding is in 7 months & the dresses take 4-5 months to come in. We are cutting this timeline way too close. I'm fully expecting it to take 2-4 weeks for everyone else to pay. They said to allow 1 month for alterations.
I will give it to J that she is a pretty great napper (although she took forever to go down to one nap), and she is generally pleasant. Like she might get up early but she's in a great mood and doesn't "break down" the same way around bed time that I hear stories about. Still I would get rid of that and take the 7PM-7AM if given the option, lol.
Mine doesn't break down either except very rarely (tonight it happened). Maybe it's a late night party baby thing.
I would even take 8 pm - 8 am. But she never sleeps more than 11 hours.

I can see why this could be a tough week/month for some people to drop cash on a bridesmaid dress.
Yes, for sure.
Our electric bill hit our credit card twice this month - when H called, they said it was an error, the November bills were processed twice, and they would be reversing it within a few days. I was thankful it wasn't coming out of our bank account twice, and felt really bad for people who couldn't afford that error a week before Christmas! (I'm sure they made it right, but what a mess to figure out when you start overdrawing if you're using your debit card!)
DS is wide awake until about 9:30. It kills me during the week. My coworker has twins two days younger than DS and those boys barely make it to 7:30. What's the deal?? I told DH tonight that my new years resolution will be to get everyone on some sort of schedule. We're all over the place and it's not good for us (too much take out, no meal planning, constant clutter) or DS (bedtime, hellooo??) and he looked at me like I said we should move to the moon. I may have identified half of the problem.
WHY does it take over a week for a business to process a gift certificate? I ordered DH a gift certificate last Sunday, and it hasn't even processed yet, let alone, shipped. The site said it would arrive in 4-6 business days. Come on, already, it's a freaking piece of paper!!
DD used to go to bed at 9, but she was also a great napper so I got downtime then. She then gave up the nap and is now fast asleep by 8pm at the latest. It's a catch 22. I'm so tired by then I just waste time. At least in the afternoon I had energy to accomplish things.
H and I had a date night at the local dive bar and then stopped by Aunt's to see all my cousins in town.
I have been drinking since 7pm. I had to go to my inlaws to grab the kids and had to act all sober. Good thing they can't hear because I'm pretty sure I slammed the door 3 times, tripped over her kitchen table and couldn't figure out if the person on the floor was DD or MIL.
I feel like J and I are never going to get better. I finally went to the doctors and got antibiotics. I have a sinus infection and laryngitis. I sound like I smoke 2 + packs of cigs a day.
so much cleaning and baking to do before the ILs arrive on Tuesday. Why did we invite them again? Uggh. Also meal planning and grocery shopping, double uggh.
I am not usually up now, but I have a for now sleeping but earlier puking DD1 laying on my lap on the bathroom floor God I hope this is a 24 hr thing and her sisters don't get it.

[ Yeah I understand too, I wasn't excited to pay in full on the spot but someone had to do it in order for everyone to save 20%. We should have started shopping a few months ago so there was more time to plan for the expense. But everyone was busy & this was the only day that worked.
guys no need to make me feel even worse telling me how all your kids go to be at 7!
Max still likes to go to bed at 9. He is then up as soon as he notices it is morning. There is hope though, since starting school A has started going to bed earlier than she ever has. She still doesn't sleep through the night, but she is a good cuddler.
