I love that house. That view is amazing. It is so beautiful it makes me want to move back to SF.
A lot since we moved. About 4200 sq ft finished, plus unfinished space, the cold cellar, bunker and gym. 2 adults, 2 kids. No pets.
Talk to me about this bunker.
Is it for the zombie apocalypse?
Totally could be!! We have a "lower garage". It's basically 700 square feet under the main garage. It's parking-garage grade concrete and steel. It's 8.5 feet high inside and you can access it from stairs to our regular garage, or two doors into other areas of the house. We did it for extra storage. We contemplated making it into a movie theatre but its a bit cold from being under the garage. It's also a bit damp. It does have an exhaust system that vents outside but it could be sealed off and vented internally. It's basically like a giant cold cellar. I just call it the bunker. I will have to take photos and post sometime.
Main house is 4100 sq ft inlaw apartment is 800 sq ft on 26 acres.
2 adults 2 kids 2 weimaraners
We have a big house but we spend 80% of our indoor waking hours in the kitchen and den which are only about 500 sq feet combined. We spend a lot of time outside.

1744 sq ft townhouse, including partial finished basement. 3br, 2 full bath, and a 1/2 bath for 2 humans and a rabbit. Its actually perfect for us now, as we're using the extra bedrooms, so it will be an adjustment because we'd like to add a couple of little humans, so we're working on #1

Oh good. From what I have seen of your posts, I didn't think you were a prepper, so the word bunker surprised me a little.

Yeah, but you live in San Francisco. I dream about living in San Francisco. I have 3500 sq ft in Tennessee but it doesn't make me feel better about living here (scratch that -- our house is the ONLY thing I like about living here.)
We'll definitely downsize when we move and I will do it GLADLY.

Hahaha the word originated from my coworkers (we are all realtors). We didnt know what to call it. The architect referred to it as the lower garage. My fun coworker called it a bunker and the term stuck!! The purpose was always extra storage space really. It's just funny that it theoretically could be used for a zombie apocalypse scenario. I don't believe in zombies but I do think Putin is nuts!
