I'm on BP meds and I had a little bit of a headache yesterday (like 6 hours after being discharged from the hospital). I took my BP and it was 127/91. Ok. I was due to take my BP meds so I did and let it to.
I just took my BP 30 min ago because I've had a small headache that comes and goes. 139/92. I'm not due to take my meds for another 6 hours.
Would you call the on call doc tomorrow or wait until Monday? I don't feel like its worth a middle of the night call. My doctor may need to increase my dose. I just feel so defeated and broken.
You said you're watching for the lower number to be over 100? Or was that just before baby? I don't know a ton about BP. If it's within an ok range, just a little high, and you have a slight headache, I would assume you're ok. But I feel in your situation I would maybe call in the morning just to see what they say if things are the same. The headache could just be from the stress, hormones, lack of sleep, anything really. But if your BP is also high, I'd rather be safe than sorry. So many *hugs*, I wish it would go back to normal for you!
jjwritergirl Nurses are terrible patients. We have a tendency to not seek help. My instinct would be wait till Monday unless it gets to 150/100 but I've gotten in trouble for not calling my doctor before.
W seems like he's hitting a growth spurt too because he wants to nurse for an hour and a half. I'm supposed to be resting and getting as much sleep as possible which is almost impossible to do while breastfeeding.

So very true I think the same also goes for doctors, paramedics or any other medical professional.
I would call tomorrow just in case. ((Hugs)) I hope you can get it under control soon.

What she said. We worry about everything but hate seeing the doctor for fear of being seen as worrywarts.
Did you take any Tylenol? If the headache isn't relieve by Tylenol, I'd be more concerned. But for now, just keep monitoring it. You have a parameter for a reason. And try to relax! You know that worrying can raise your BP.
It wasn't relieved by much stronger pain meds. I actually wasn't worried. I assumed my BP would be fine and the headache was from mag leftover in my system.
