Totally fine. Breastmilk is extremely durable. I don't play around as much if I've defrosted frozen milk, but otherwise i Would say its fine. The baby will let you know if its off too.
So I was always under the impression that this was true but not in the case of OP. I thought it could only sit out for an hour out of the fridge?
The rule of 6s is 6 hours at room temp for fresh pumped (because it's already warm) 6 days in the fridge if never frozen 6 months in the freezer
Although kellymom isn't clear on that.
In any case RexManningDay if it was still cold and didn't smell it's probably fine. Usually the smell test is the easiest way to tell if BM is not okay to use.
I always used the smell test if I wasn't 100% sure on time. BM is pretty resilient. In 17 months of nursing, I only threw away one 7 oz bottle I pumped and left on the counter overnight (like, 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.), and 1-3 oz a few times when they sat in the fridge for too long and got missed. Maybe 15 oz total.
We'd regularly bring a bottle upstairs and let it sit out from about 10 to 3 and then feed it to DD. I was getting up around 3 to pump anyway so if she didn't get up I'd throw it back and the cooler and we'd give it for breakfast. I was super breezy about BM though.
