DH just told me we need to bring a Paleo dish to his gyms Christmas party tomorrow. We both don't follow this diet and I am not really even sure what it is and don't want to spend time learning making sure a recipe is truly Paleo. These gym people are hardcore about it. DH goes and has friends there but he does not follow their dietary recommendation. The party is in 16 hrs and I am off to bed for the night!
I need suggestions on an easy recipe, I'm thinking appetizers will be easy?! Ack I already don't want to go! I had no idea the food was so restrictive until today.
OP, nomnompaleo is a great resource and most of her stuff is fairly simple. Gluten, grains, dairy, and legumes are all out for this party. If you have a blender, you can make an egg based dressing or dip for veggies. If you have a crockpot, you could easily do a side dish as well. Nomnom has a recipe for a paleo pumpkin custard on her site that is fantastic. It's a pretty easy dessert option if you want to go that route.
What seems easy to me is shrimp cocktail with no sugar cocktail sauce
Shrimp cocktail is a great idea! Not sure how easy it would be to find no sugar cocktail sauce, but I imagine it's made pretty easily with canned tomato, horseradish, and spices.

I wouldn't worry about a small amount of sugar for the party, honestly.
Yeah, true. If it's anything like the parties at my gym, people play it sort of fast and loose with the rules anyway.
OP, if you do want to make it, Annie's brand ketchup is really tasty and at least a better ketchup than Heinz in terms of sugar content.

Thanks everyone! I made the mistake of promising him I will make a dish for this party a few weeks ago, so I am kinda stuck. The only way I can get out of it is if we all don't go. I think I am going to go with the bacon and asparagus one.
