I'm super annoyed with Williams-Sonoma and UPS. I placed an order on 12/16 waaaay in advance for the Christmas shipping deadline. Apparently the label was just created and ups shows a delivery of 12/29. Wtf?! And I'm still getting WS emails that say they can still deliver by Christmas.
I'm side-eyeing their shipping, too. I ordered 2 sauces for BIL/SIL. Not only did they apparently needed to ship them separately, the second is scheduled to arrive on Christmas Eve. OK, then.
We're having Christmas with my family today. I'm mainly excited because my parents are giving my kids luggage, and I can't pack for our trip until they get them.
I'm so hungover. I started drinking at 2 pm yesterday while at a ladies cookie baking party. And didn't stop through dinner and an ugly sweater party. Stupid stupid stupid. Ugh. I may take a month off of drinking in January to detox.

I feel like all the major retailers fucked up Xmas shipping this year. You'd think they'd know better by now?!? I guess they'd rather deal with disgruntled customers than push their "deliver by Christmas!" deadline back to where it apparently needs to be, earlier than 12/16 apparently.
-signed, pissed at Shutterfly for an order placed 12/12 which has been sitting in CA since 12/16, not moving.
Last year I ordered photo books and waited like two weeks and the status said delivered to the local post office but I never got them. I emailed cs and the fed ex overnighted the books to me for free. Then the originals finally came a few days later
Apparently I made MIL feel bad because I said that I wanted it just to be the 3 of us (me, DH and DS) going bowling tomorrow. BIL is here for DS' birthday and damn it-I took the day off work to spend time as a family, not with MIL and BIL in tow.
I've been sick and an exhausted. My h has random joint pains and last night his foot started hurting so bad that he can't walk at all right now. It's so weird. He had testing done a year ago when it was his elbows bothering him the most and now it's worse.
Has he been tested for lyme disease (or other tick borne diseases)?
I don't need to worry about using special just from Santa wrapping paper this year yet, right?
Also, logistics question: I have to work until probably 1 pm Christmas Eve. Church service is at 4 and will probably go until 5, get home around 5:15. Would like to eat dinner at 6 before C goes to bed. How would you cook a ham in that time period? Could I cook it before we leave for church and then just leave it on warm in the crockpot? Or will it dry out terribly?

My mom has done ham in the crockpot before, like the whole time. I haven't tried it but I bet there are directions online.
Otherwise I'd put it in before you leave for church and pull it out when you get home. A good sized ham takes awhile, and you could out the oven on 300 or 325 instead of 350. It won't get cold if you let it rest with foil over it while you prep sides.
@supergreen, I had the same issue with Shutterfly, it took two weeks for a package to get to me and then the quality was bad. They promised a new one by Christmas but it hasn't shipped yet. We'll see.
I had a slight sniffle yesterday and today I woke up with a full blown cold. It sucks, I haven't been this sick in a long time.
I'm sorry you're sick, boo! I hope it passes quickly!
Shutterfly is being weird. They shipped the two custom framed photo collages I ordered, I got those over a week ago, shipped via FedEx. The calendars were part of the SAME ORDER, and are stuck in CA with USPS. WTF.

Barking dogs are the worst. My neighbor's dog woke us up at like 5am, she let him.bark for like 40 minutes before bringing him inside. now i want to nap and he is outside again. Why does he bark sooo much? Why would someone want to live with something that barks so much? At least she doesnt leave him outside all the time. Sigh

I've spent an embarrassing amount at target over the last 3 days. Like even H said something about it to me. Whoops. Lol. Oh christmas.
Switch Target for Amazon and this is me. DH said "how much did you spend for Christmas?" LOLOLOL. I have NO IDEA. I bought everything I'd bookmarked. He just buys his family GCs so he gets off easy. I have to buy for him, DS, both my parents, and my sister.

We walked to the farmers' market this morning. It was the last one of the year. This means that we did not drive to the market once this season (April-Dec). We biked with watermelons, pumpkins, and a tree.

I just realized our furnace isn't working. Fuck. And DH can't find the info for the people who installed and service it so he had to call some random company. The lady like triple checked that we wanted to pay double time today rather than wait until tomorrow. It's already down to 62 in the house and we have an 8 week old...just make the heat work!
Guys, I cannot hang any more. It was DH's Christmas party. We got home super late and I was up with DS at 6. I went back to bed during his morning nap & slept nearly 3 hours. I still feel like I got hit by a bus and I didn't even drink much!
I think DS needs to have his first overnight (where? with who? I don't know) the next time we plan on having a late night.
In related news, we're all still in our PJs. I've officially hit the time in the day that when I decide to shower, I'm just going to switch into new PJs at this point. No clothes or going out for me, thanks.

Ugh, good luck! This happened to us on Christmas Eve a few years ago. I woke up that morning and it was 59 in the house, the boiler had died sometime that night.
I don't even want to talk about what we paid for that service. But, no heat wasn't really a better option.

You're doing it wrong. Just don't shower! Then you won't have to change. But I guess I'm gross :-)
Christmas part 1 was this afternoon with my dad and stepmom. They didn't go overboard for once and DS loves his gifts! I hope the rest of the festivities go so smoothly... if DS would just get rid if his 103-104 degree fever.
I was planning on getting just my last bit of Christmas shopping done but decided to take one for the team and do most of J's too*. Then I braved Costco for TP, kcups, a two pack of quiches for Christmas morning, and a case of wine. THEN I went to the grocery store. Now I'm sitting on my ass at home for a few before I head back to my parents, because my dad took AJ to see Santa again. I need a nap.
*j is on his third 12+ hour day at work, of five. His next day off is Christmas eve, and if were going to go see the Hobbit (or go to beerlunch, or do anything besides him finding a way to blame me for his lack of Christmas shopping in advance and me setting him straight with a raised voice and a lot of four letter words) life will be a lot easier that day if I just do the bulk of the shopping now. Damnit, my parents offered to take AJ for the day that day, you bet your ass we are doing something fun.
