OMG I love your grandma. I watched youtube videos to learn how to make nice bows. So now I want to make bows for all the packages. So pretty, but so not practical. I want to hit up target after Christmas to hopefully score some cheap ribbon so I can go way overboard on bows next year!

H & DD just snuck into the guest room to wrap my presents. They were whispering about their plans, and DD walks over to me and says, unprompted, "mommy, maybe you can go somewhere for awhile. Like to yoga or the donut shop."

Also, I have the yummiest holiday meals planned but absolutely zero motivation to go grocery shopping.
My 90 year old grandma asked my mom for a copy of "50 Shades of Grey" for Christmas. She wants to see what everyone is talking about.
She went to the library at her senior citizens complex and there's a 6 month wait for it.

Okay, I have a random. More like a question, disguised as a random to not draw attention to myself. LOL...
I am absolutely not in shape. I walk/jog/sometimes run for a few minutes....every day. I am trying. Really, I am. I had been doing Crossfit, but felt like I was honestly not in proper shape to do it the right way, so I stopped. I want to post in here, but I wasn't sure if I would look silly as I am not in shape/or know as much about fitness as you guys. (embarrassed) So, I suppose I want to know if a newbie can join in a bit, and not be fit...but be trying to be fit.

It was! Really tough coming back - but we loved the resort and the quietness of the beach. I could probably go there for a long weekend once a year!
I'm so psyched that today is the solstice and the days can get longer now.
I think I'm going to start upping my mpw this week as though I am marathon training. I'll make my final decision re: RnR DC mid January. I need to see how well I tolerate double digit mid-week runs in the dark before I can fully commit.
DH is finally up and out of bed, recovering from the flu. I got 4 rough miles in this morning-apparently it takes 3 for me to not be coughing up a lung while recovering from a cold.
The house is silent and I'm supposed to be wrapping DS' birthday and Christmas presents. I'm avoiding it because this means my baby will be 3 tomorrow

We really need to get moving/run some errands, but we're being so lazy. It's gloomy & rainy, so that isn't helping.
I'm really excited for my sister & her family to get their Christmas gift on Tuesday! I couldn't think of a good gift. The girls just had birthdays in Sept & Oct, and really don't need more toys. I also couldn't decide what to do for my sister & bil. I wanted to think of something fun. Then I remembered my oldest niece talking about how she really wanted to go see Winter (the dolphin w/the prosthetic tail) again, and I guess now they have Hope there too. She went on & on about how they had so much fun there. My youngest niece was talking about it too. They are local to the aquarium, so I purchased an annual membership for a family of 4, to the aquarium. It also gets them into local children's museums for free, plus 50% off at some other places. Yay!
i STILL have a damn head cold. I'm so tired of being snotty & mucus filled, on my runs. This has been going on since Thanksgiving.
It was a 2.5 hour flight for us and worth it to sit on the beach and relax Now we're shoved straight into christmas. Better get to my christmas lunch menu, we're having a house full of family
I have to finish shopping today. Except I have no list, no ideas, and no motivation.
I ran today for the first time since lady week. It was not pretty. Although, I shouldn't be surprised after a week of shoveling crap food and drink (not water) down my gullet.
lb2006 SO jealous- we went there for our honeymoon and swore we'd go back someday.
My randoms are - the good news is that I went for a trail run today for the 1st time since my ankle's been healed and that part was glorious. The bad news is I could totally feel the difference (in a bad way)that holiday "fueling" plan is making. I felt like a gigantic slug. Who knew that sugar and booze don't do wonders for running performance?

I think I'm doing this running thing wrong.... I've run 4 miles on Friday, 5 yesterday, and 6.2 miles today. Not only have I felt better at the end of all the runs than the previous day, but my average pace per mile is getting faster from day to day. And pretty much the same course, actually the longer I run the more hills I hit. I'm confused but am just going to roll with it.

runaways - way to go for your husband! I don't know how you survive shifts that long, but enjoy some r & r today.
