It's happening when the Jones Canadian Bacon banner ad is at the top of the page for me.

ETA: I have signatures turned off.

And I blamed my flash. But I usually have only Gmail, FB and this site open so I thought it was totally my computer. Wtf is wrong? Also it is not all threads, certain ones make my computer lag for a few seconds.

Actually it looks like Jones has multiples ads for their multiple products. It's every ad from that company.

I thought something was wrong with my computer...I didn't realize it was because of this page, although that makes sense. My browser has crashed a couple times in the past couple of days.

I wasn't paying attention to the ads earlier, but I had this happen at one point today. I wonder if that particular ad was playing. It's otherwise been fine.
