important fudge question

I tried to cheat and make easy fudge, not using a candy thermometer. Obviously it did not set right. Still solid. Tastes delicious. But kind of gooey. Was gonna severe on Christmas. Do i need to remake or can i still serve?

Freeze it. Serve it. Part of the homemade charm is imperfection.

I had a batch that turned out like that this year, and after leaving it out on the counter for a few days, it seemed to firm up a little bit.

If you have a rec for a pan & thermometer LMK. The hardest part for me is just getting a reading that's not the bottom of the pan.

Yeah not that gooey. I can still cut it up. Just more malleable than it should be

You just need chocolate , sweetened condensed milk, a candy thermometer, and a willingness to fail.

I made some 5 minute fudge without a thermometer at all yesterday and I haven't cut into it yet! Here's hoping. I'll let you know how it's turned out.

Scratch that, H says he thinks I have a candy thermometer. So I'm just missing condensed milk.

This does not require a thermometer or condensed milk. And it's insanely good and easy.
