When do you like to read (especially if you have little kids)?
I like the idea of reading, and want to read more, but have never gotten into finding/making time to read. I try to read before bed, but no matter how much I love the book, I'm almost always falling asleep within a few pages.
I don't have kids. But I read in the bath tub right before bed. No distractions and it's nice to wind down without electronics.
That's the only time I've successfully found to work for me (well, except the time I dozed off & dropped my book into the water! Doh!) Then I have to re-fill the bathtub several times because the water gets cold! LOL!
I have a great chaise in my family room. It is MY chair and everyone knows it lol. The kids play and I chill there and read sometimes during the day. Otherwise, I read at night. Almost daily.
I really don't read as much as I should. Usually just 6-8 books a year when I travel for work or vacation. After I have my baby I guess it will be down to just work trips.
I always read before bed and usually carve out time during the day on weekends to read while the kids are entertaining themselves. It's gotten a lot easier since they've gotten older (7 and 4), but even when they were littler I'd keep a book or my Kindle handy in the living room so I could get in a few pages when they didn't need me.
Before I had a kid, I read all the time. On my lunch break, if work was slow I had a Kindle app on my computer and I'd read a book rather than surfing the web, all day on the weekends...etc. I never watched TV, just read.
Now I read in bed at night before I go to sleep and I read a little bit during his nap time. It takes me a month to finish a book sometimes, haha.
Yeah I fall asleep after a few pages too at night but it is what it is. Lately I try to pick books that are less than 500 pages because I know at my current rate I may be reading that book for 2 months, haha.

No kids. I binge-read on breaks from work, like Christmas break and during the summer. I may go 2-3 months without picking up a book for fun because reading for work keeps me busy.
I enjoy reading during the weekend afternoons or at night before bed. If I am really enthralled with a book, I read every possible second I can get.
My youngest is 16 months. He plays well independently, but he's a little stinker that can't be trusted! Hopefully that'll change soon. My oldest is much more needy when it comes to play, so for the time being, I think I'm limited to when they're asleep. I think I just need to make it a bigger priority. They sleep a lot, but that's when I'm usually on here!
My other problem is that I'm an incredibly slow reader, so combined with not making time for it, it takes me forever & a day to make it through a book.

I usually read every day. The girls are 10, 8, and 2. They're pretty much with me 24/7 (homeschoolers). I keep my kindle with me and read while they're in activities. I also read before bed most nights.
Like others, I read after DD goes to bed or during nap time. I'm more motivated if I'm engrossed in a book so I try to pick page turners to get me back in the reading habit whenever I'm in a reading funk.
I also find some time here and there during the weekends ... like, breakfast/coffee is sacred. All I have to say is "coffee" and DD knows she has to entertain herself (she's 3). And I'm usually traveling a few nights every month or so for work, so I can read then.

Mostly at night, while in bed. I do read some at work, if the time allows. Usually no more than 1-2 chapters a week, but still. (Again, school librarian.)

I actually plan to get to work early because street parking by my school is awful. I sit for about 20 minutes every day with my coffee and my book. It's the best part of my day.
In the summer, I read on my deck at night for hours after G goes to bed. I got these awesome lights from target and I have a comfy couch out there. That's my happy place.
My back yard used to be my happy place. I would spend hours out there, too. Book/magazine/iPad and a glass of wine and I was set for the night. Then they put a road back there and now there are a bunch of houses. We've been here less than three years! I miss having a nice field and deer behind my house! I'm sure I'll get used to it, but right now, I don't like it.
