what's everyone up to this evening? DD is still napping. We have chili in the crockpot and I just finished rolling out and baking the sugar cookies. Will probably wait to frost them on tues evening or christmas eve when the ILs are here. We had plans to go downtown to see lights tonight but with DD's late nap I'm not sure that's gonna work. So maybe Sound of Music and putting away laundry, woo hoo.
still lots of cleaning to do before the ILs arrive Tuesday evening but I'm off work on Tuesday so I'm not too worried about it.
Making dinner now. C is a whiny mess today thanks to steroids. 90 minutes to bedtime!
After he's in bed I think I'm going to make the quick peanut butter fudge I posted in the fudge thread and take a bath. My mom felt bad for me after the last few weeks and got me half of Lush for Christmas, LOL.

I'm really excited about the gift I bought for dh. His cell phone charging port has been slowly crapping out and he has to precisely position his phone and the cord and use a heavy object to hold each one in place. So I bought him a wireless charging kit. Today he was telling me about how he wasn't sure how much longer his port would work and that he needs to find a new work around. A couple hours later he was telling me about wireless charging and getting really excited about it. I think I convinced him to wait until boxing day sales to order a kit. I win at Christmas this year
M is waking up from a lap nap. We have leftover bbq from his baptism lunch to eat for dinner. H is watching SOA, but I never got into it so I have no idea what's going on.

Ooh, what do you recommend from Lush? My uncle got me gc for Christmas, so I'm scoping out what to buy with it!
I've been posting stuff for free or reasonably priced on my local b/s/t fb pages. I feel like I go out of my way to accommodate most requests, but some are really off putting. I'm selling you a like new skip hop bag for $10. no, I will not deliver it an hour away. at least meet me half way. no I will not deliver the large TV stand that I specifically listed for pick up only with the explanation that I don't have a vehicle big enough to deliver. offering me gas money isn't going to help!
but ive made over $500 in the last few weeks so I ahouldnt complain too much.
Just got back from an extended family Christmas party. It was super fun but I'm the only one with really little kids and while everyone was very accomodating it's just exhausting in a non-child proofed house, they forget why I have to move things along etc.
My grandfather (who has been in a nursing home for almost a year now) took a random fall last week and they found all sorts of stuff wrong they didn't know about. My mom just called and said this is probably then end and if I want to see him I probably should go tomorrow. I can't take the kids due to flu restrictions, there's insanity planned for the barnyard tomorrow (which H can rearrange but it's not easy) and like 4364364 things on my mind to work out the logistics of getting there. It's so exhausting to think about and while I would like to see him one last time, thinking about it all just puts me over the edge.
I know I sound like a terrible person but just kwim I okay?
We just got our new dishwasher installed so I'm going to run it and see how well it works soon.
I think it's time for my old kitty to be put to sleep. she's been going downhill for awhile now. I don't want to make the phone call so I asked SO to do it yesterday but he hasn't yet and I'm annoyed. I don't want to keep thinking about it.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow so I can get a break - it's been a busy weekend (again).
Some of H's extended family came over today and brought some pictures of H's late brother. It affected me more than I thought it would. He does look so similar to DS. It was a reminder to cut my MIL a whole lot of slack.
We did our little family Christmas this morning since we are flying east for the holiday. And having friends over for dinner since I got a free ham from work for Christmas. LOL. DS is still napping so hopefully he is up soon!

Do you take baths? If so, I love The Comforter bubble bar and Sex Bomb bath bomb. Basically I just avoid the bath bombs with glitter because they make your tub look like a unicorn peed in it. You can also cut all their bath bombs and bubble bars and stuff to make them last longer.
If you're not into baths I love: Trichomania shampoo bar American Cream conditioner Sultana soap Honey I Washed the Kids soap Dream Cream lotion (amazingly good on eczema)
I don't like their solid massage bars/lotions/conditioners (PITA to use). But that's about it. I love that place.
I cannot wait for these damn molars to come in. C has eaten basically nothing today. Last night was a terrible blur of toddler hysterics. I am crabby and so is DH. I just snapped at C for basically no reason but I just cannot deal with the clingy toddler bit at this moment. BAH HUMBUG!

Thank you!!! I don't usually take baths, but our new house has a whirlpool tub in the master, so I'm planning to start!
My parents left at 3:00. H and I are 3 hours in to parenting by ourselves with a newborn. Also, we are 99% sure we can never do this again. I salute you parents of more than one child.
#2 was so much easier than #1. The learning curve is steep on your first. The second was like "feed, diaper, chill out".

Yeah, just don't do a bubble bar plus the tub jets. Learned that the hard way! Bath bombs don't usually bubble so they're okay.
I basically live in the tub my last trimester. Our water bill is going to be awful this month but I don't care.

Just remember that this is probably the most scared and clueless you'll ever be. Before you know it, your kid will be eating Cheerios off the floor and you'll be all "meh" like the rest of us.

DS1 is being hilarious right now. He started tickling DH after nap, which he's never done before, and now he's using this low growly voice to make his Cars toys talk to each other.
We're on a plane! With Wi-Fi. So far J has napped and opened and shut the window shade. I can never tell what time zone my phone is on so I'm not sure how much further to go.

@astrid hugs. The first few days/weeks are so hard and so different from life before. It will get easier.
We had a really productive weekend, despite DD and H's colds. All the bathrooms and kitchen are clean, cookies and pumpkin breads are made and packaged, laundry almost done, whole house is vacuumed, and some little things got done (hard to reach lightbulb out etc). It was a good weekend! .
I hope DD's cold gets better before Christmas. We are supposed to go to BILs and his kids are sick too, ugh.

Yeah I don't know how people manage with more than one child!
BUT if I can take care of a newborn with a gimpy ankle, I'm sure you'll be fine.
It took some creative uses of paper bits and gift bags, but I wrapped ALL the gifts this morning without having to venture out to buy wrapping paper. I threw some dance music on the iPod and shook my booty the whole time. Turns out doing that while PG isn't the best idea, I'm so sore now! Whoops!
DH took DS to run errands, then lunch and hot cocoa while I wrapped. He bought DS a mug of cocoa as big as his head!
Chocolate chip cookies are in the oven. DH was upset we had a break in cookies since I didn't realize he had inhaled the PB blossoms from last weekend.
I'm trying a new recipe for eggnog cheesecake brownies. I hope they don't suck.
I am currently wrapping everything that can be wrapped for C's stocking and H's. I really like wrapping gifts and they really like unwrapping them. I should hire myself out.
