Today makes up for all those days I can't get out of my own way. The kids and I made it to church, grocery shopping, out to lunch, played 2 epic games of scrabble, did school, several loads of laundry and wrapped presents. I'm ready for Monday!
I had a productive morning, followed by a slow slide into indolence in the afternoon. On the plus side, I've read almost an entire book in the last 24 hours (Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander, one of my all-time favorites) and just opened up a yummy bottle of Trappist ale. On the down side, my floors still haven't been swept and mopped and the laundry isn't folded.
Productive day for me too! H took the kids over to his parents house and yo do a few errands. So I cleaned the kitchen, shampooed the carpet, swept the basement, did two loads of Landry and wrapped about half our presents. I've been up since 4:30 so I'm ready to crash.
I was able to get to all the stores that I hoped to, but didn't have luck in finding all what I needed. Yay for going back out tomorrow! Dinner turned out really yummy tonight (just a casserole, nothing fancy). DH is watching Game of Thrones and I'm soaking in the big tub. At first I was annoyed that the water drains out slowly, but on the plus side it gives me room to add more hot water & not get cold.
We are moving on Friday. I was leaving most of my packing until this weekend and ended up slacking yesterday. Dd woke up at 3 am today puking and has been doing so intermittently since then and I've been nauseous on top of a cold all day. I am going to end up paying out the wazoo for the movers to pack up random shit, I know it. This single parent stuff can shove it.

Also it's the first Christmas we wont have a tree. We went on a 3 wk vacation and now Im just too tired/lazy to put a tree together just for a week. I also have to go buy a tree because our old tree is now too ginormous for our curent living room. I am just not feeling the holiday this time, that vacation sucked the life out of me. I just want to sleep for 48hrs!

I attended a Southern Baptist church service today and found it to be very uplifting. Haven't been to church in years since I stopped being LDS (Mormon).
H and I are applying for more life insurance and need to have a physical. We were told that the nurse will come to us, was "very flexible", and works on our schedule.
She called tonight to set up meeting before Christmas. We asked for Monday after five so we could both be home from work. She said evenings don't work and asked if we could do Tuesday at 10:15 in the morning. Uh. Sure. H was planning on working, but I guess he can take off and I can rearrange my schedule. I'm annoyed, but I know this is a stupid thing to be annoyed over.

What a bummer. We had to do ours at the clinic.
It is for sure a FWP. She said she was going to be in S-town about 7 miles away, so I'm sure she just didn't want to come this way twice. Lame.
I made peppermint bark and gingerbread cookies for my dad's Christmas gift. I also went over to Whole Foods and got him a couple of local items to add to the box: pickled green beans and spicy carrots, vinegar and sea salt roasted almonds, and a local brand of whole coffee beans. Other than that, it's been a ridiculously boring day. DH is back to feeling sick again, so he laid on the couch for most of the day and I just woke him up from a several hour nap.
I have to work 7 straight days starting tomorrow and I am seriously dreading it. At least my boss will be on vacation for a large chunk of it, which should make things a good deal more tolerable.

DD has been a beast all weekend. I'm so ready for Monday! However, the tiny part of me that is a concerned parent is worried that her cold has turned into something worse and that is why she is being a monster, but really I'm sure it is just a case of her being three.
I did manage to wrap all the non-Santa gifts today and my ILs are getting DD from daycare tomorrow so I can run and get a few last minute giftcards.

I'm reaching Grinch level of crabbiness with everyone/everything - this used to be my favorite time of year but now it just stresses me out and people get on my nerves. My house is a disaster (and I have no motivation to do anything about it), my kids are bickering constantly, and I'm just OVER IT. I think part of it is having to work M-W and trying to figure out how we are going to get everything done. Blah.

I'm mad at my neighbor. The younger daughter (12?) brought over cookies today and with her was their dog. The dog is extremely aggressive and is probably 100+ lbs and has lots of long hair, so she looks huge. The dog ran into our house and freaked the crap out of my two dogs (65 and 7 lbs). Mine would not stop barking, especially when the dog went to the cat food and started eating it, all while I'm figuring out what the heck to do. I hate this dog. It is ALWAYS off leash and scares my dogs and kids every single time she is out. I'm just pissed that none of them have any sense with regards to this dog.
Picked up a rug for my living room and a chandelier for my dinning room. Bought them both off Craigslist. $50 for the rug and $60 for the chandelier. The light was still in the box. The rug is my Christmas present. I love them both.

I got all our gifts wrapped today but accomplished nothing else at all. My house is a mess but I can't bring myself to care that much because I only work two days this week.
I've been watching a lot of movies and paying attention to the credits trying looking for baby name ideas.
