I usually do Christmas candy instead of cookies. Buckeyes, oreo truffles, peanut brittle, pretzel bites, chocolate peppermint bark, and crockpot chocolate & peanut candy are all on the list this year.
My nana's cream cheese sugar cookies. They're seriously the best.
Are they cut out or drop cookies? I've never tried a cream cheese sugar cookie! Any chance you want to share the recipe?
They're cut outs, and this is the best cookie dough ever. The cookies hold their shape beautifully. They don't turn into blobs like regular sugar cookies.
The recipe says to bake at 375. The first batch I put in got a bit too brown on the bottom, so I turned the oven down to 350 and left them in for 12-14 minutes, depending on the thickness.
Also, the dough needs to be refrigerated for more like 45 minutes to an hour.

My sister's snickerdoodles This chocolate chip recipe from Cooking Light www.myrecipes.com/m/recipe/chocolate-chip-cookies I'm starting a new tradition and adding cookies from wannabe Look at her mastery in these cookies I ordered. I ordered some for my CWs and some for me, I mean, my family. They'll be here tomorrow and I can almost taste them.
I love chocolate scotcheroos but I've yet to make them where they aren't too hard. I just read that it's because I'm cooking the sugar-corn syrup mixture too long and probably pressing the cereal too tight. Someone had a tip to use the microwave in short intervals instead of boiling on a stove. I'm going to try that.
I also love to make white chocolate macadamia craisin cookies but I'm not sure I'll find the nuts this year. If the weather holds out for coconut meringues I might make those.
Based on the amount of chocolate chips I found in the cabinet I think there are some cc cookies in our future, too.

Spritz And they must be green in the shape of Christmas trees or pink in the shape of wreaths. I'm sure the contraption used to make them is from the 70's but they equal Christmas for me.
Besides many of the aforementioned cookies, also rum balls, pumpkin snickerdoodles, egg nog spritz, butterscotch chip, and chocolate gingerbread. New this year, and now permenantly in the rotation: brown butter and bourbon rice krispie treats.

Just wanted to say that I made these last night and they are AWESOME! Thank you!!
Yay!! I crave them all year. I think I want to try them with a chocolate fudge and cream cheese frosting.

I'm usually a bit of a cookie maniac but this year my mom is in the hospital and I just haven't had the energy, but I normally make sugar cookies shaped like candy canes (red and white dough, twisted and shaped). a peanut butter kiss type concoction that I invented myself made with hazelnuts instead of peanut butter; Martha Stewart's chocolate crackle cookies (gotta have them!); and spritz cookies. This year I think I'm only making gingerbread holly leaves for her nurses. Not to tragedy whore here, but this Christmas's expected outcome is that it is going to suck.
