We are done having babies. I am 41, we live in a two bedroom house, and my husband had a vasectomy, yet the pregnancy pact post, and the are you pregnant posts are making me a little sad. I loved being pregnant, and my babies are so big. M yells at me and tells me he is not a baby, every time I sing him a lullaby that has the word baby in it.
I have known we are done since I POAS with dd2 and I have atrociously horrible pregnancies. I still miss having a teeny newborn. I doubt you ever get over it, that's why the pregnants and moms of littles have old ladies in their faces all the time at the grocery store.
For myself I am just trying to enjoy the brief, precious time we have with dd2 before she turns 3.
My mom is driving me a little bit crazy about my OB appointments. I've explained to her they're all the same- pee in a cup, weight check, blood pressure check, listen to the heartbeat, the end.
But every time I talk to her, she wants to know when my next is appointment is, or how did the last appointment go--what exactly did the doctor say?--or make sure you update me about the next appointment. It almost feels like she's expecting something to go wrong and is just waiting for the appointment when I find it out.
I feel bad venting, because she's so excited, but she is an EXTREME worrier (I'm pretty positive she has an undiagnosed anxiety disorder) and it's starting to get to me
If your doctor is anything like mine, he says literally nothing while he's doing that stuff other than "sounds good" when he hears the heartbeat. They don't even tell me what my BP is, etc. I assume they would obviously if they were worried.
I have a name/nickname question but I can't really ask it without giving up the baby's name and I feel like I'll probably get negative responses to the nickname I want to use and then be butthurt. So I probably shouldn't ask it.
I think parents can use any manor of ridiculous nickname they like.
Kids can choose what to go by at school or change it at any time anyway. So your son could switch to his given name at any point.
My youngest sister is going to be 30 this year and changes her name preference every so often still.
you guys DH is on my bad side today. All weekend he was like "We need to encourage our toddler to be independent!" which we already do in most situations but he decided to let her pick out her clothes on Saturday and Sunday.
so getting her dressed was a huge PITA for me this morning because she wanted to go through her dresser and look at every option before choosing. I ended up just choosing for her and she flipped of course. I had to explain to DH it makes it much easier if he just shows her 2 options and lets her pick, as opposed to letting her contemplate all 50 options in her closet.
also I want to choose her cute outfits dammit.
Studies show even adults are paralyzed by more than 3-5 options.

Yeah, I anticipate this being more of a baby/toddler nickname and him choosing to use his full name or whatever else when he gets old enough. I like names that have some flexibility to them.

Brie I have a cousin with that name and that's what we called him until at some point it switched to Packy (which was more of a cutesy family thing). I like it.
I had the worst start to a Monday I have had on a long time.
I had a deeply upsetting bad dream and then I overslept by 2 hours and was about 45 minutes late to work. I know I set my phone alarm, so I'll need to check the sound.
I was really tired and do feel a little better after 10+ hours of sleep though.

Yeah, the extent of the conversation is, "Looks good. Any questions?" As long as she gets her "looks good," she's content. Until the next appointment.
You finance/accounting suckers should come work in technology. End of year is like "well, this is broken and it's preventing me from doing work, but the people who could help me are on vacation. Soooo, imma just leave at 3, is that cool with you guys?"
Val has decided that helping him before he asks for it is now the eighth deadly sin. Especially if you dare to cut up his food for him.
Daycare is closed for the next two weeks (it's part of a private school so it runs on the school calendar) so I'm home with DS for two weeks. Entertaining a toddler is exhausting. I was hoping the Elmo Christmas special would catch his attention but unfortunately not. Counting down to naptime!
I have double of all outdoor gear, one set for daycare and one for home. On Friday DD saw her daycare boots as we were leaving and was throwing a fit for me to put them on her. So I did and figured I would just bring them back today. No problem. Yeah I forgot. Thankfully my daycare lady's son is the same size so she has extra that DD is wearing today. Ugh, too many things to get done and on my mind this weekend! One more day and then I'm off until the 5th!

I win the laziest parent award! Popped Shrek on the tv, buckled dd in her car seat on the living room floor (she insisted). Now we don't have to supervise at all since she can't go anywhere!

I like it Brie! My cousin was the cutest toddler and went by that nickname when he was younger, so I'm a fan.
I have so much grocery shopping and baking to do, but DS woke up with a bad cold. I don't want to take him out today, and I am dreading going to the store tonight.
So the mobile vet is coming at 9 tomorrow morning to put my cat to sleep. I think it's the right thing to do but I'm so sad. She could probably keep going for another few months but I just think it's time. Her vision has deteriorated and she's barely eating. She asks for food a lot but then doesn't eat much of it. The last few days she's pretty much been sleeping on a pillow on the couch unless she's following me around begging for food that she doesn't eat. She's 16.5 and I got her when she was tiny, probably 5-6 weeks old.
The timing sucks because I'm home alone with K tomorrow and she prob won't be down for a nap yet. Hoping SO can be home for it but doubtful since he usually has meetings during that time.
Ds is at daycare for the first time in a week! There were only two other kids there at 7:45 when I dropped him off. Watch him be the only kid on Wednesday. I have continuing Ed to do though soooo have fun kiddo!

I washed the seat and vacuumed the car last night, but didn't put the seat back in yet. DD's been so happy to play in there all morning. I had hot coffee!
I'm about to be the asshole who takes the sick kid to gym care. Sorry other parents! She's teething (I felt 3 lumps), so I'm not positive she's sick, but her nose is quite runny.

If there's no fever this is completely fine. If I never took V anywhere because of a runny nose or cough, we wouldn't leave the house between November and April.
