You're welcome for this enlightening anecdote.
Dumbass #1:
My professor: So you're comparing underprivileged persons to animals?
Dumbass #1: Being "underprivileged" is a changeable condition for most
My professor: You didn't answer the question
Dumbass #1: Yeah, somewhat. I take that back. Animals are better behaved.
My professor: I won't argue with you on this. You clearly have a hatred for human beings that I can't understand and choose not to associate with. But as I bid you adieu, I will point out how the poor in this country are not that way predominantly because they are too stupid or too lazy to be rich. It's almost entirely because they were born into poverty. The US has one of the lowest economic mobility rates in the developed world. www.epi.org/publ.../usa-lags-peer-countries-mobility/
Dumbass #2 feels the need to share some anecdotes: Well if this makes you feel any more knowledgable about the situation, I know kids (a huge handful all over the country) my age (early 20's) that will NOT get a job under $15 an hour because they think the rest is not worth their time. Meanwhile they signed up for food stamps and live off the government. They are out every night drinking and partying. They smoke. They chew. They smoke weed other shit for 'fun sakes'. They don't need a job because they make enough in their checks while they are 'looking for a job' half of those kids either dropped out of high school or refuse to go to college to further their education. They are to LAZY to better themselves. They are to ARROGANT to think that maybe they're the problem. They are NOT hungry. Some grew up in rich homes and others grew up in the slums. So YES she is comparing some people to animals because quite frankly, America didn't grow and prosper in the first places with lazy fucks sitting around wanting to control the situation but not work it. The only way this country will get back on it's feet is if we let some of the people who can work get a bit hungry for money and food. People need to literally qualify for government assistance in my opinion with strict standards. Things are getting completely out of hand. We don't need to better everyone's lives but our own. We need to take care of our own people first. Staying united is the most important feature anyone can have in their lives. Whether it be within themselves, within a relationship with a spouse, parents, children, friends. Whether is be within our country. United means 'together, be a part of, to work amongst' this country is more divided then ever today. Because of black hate white and white hate black, because of killing each other, because of media, because of opinionated spoiled brats, because of people wanting to steer the boat instead of row it. We will never be truly united as this country has way to many people looking different directions today. But let's get realistic. Everyone wants to prosper. So put the main objective of 'work' in their minds instead of calling them underprivileged. I have watched someone who grew up in a non insulated hell hole with no water, no heat other then a fire that they took turns getting to put wood in the fire once every hour with mice running across the floor in bumfuck no where North Dakota grow up into a strong, successful, man with a drive and ambition to make the best of himself. He had morals with no money. He had try, with no promise. The conditions of the underprivileged are indeed changeable. It's the mind set that's the problem. That's Americas problem.
Jesusy dumbass: Definitely would here about how racist I am if. I posted this! Anyone can change their current situation with a hand up and with Christ.
These people agree with Lys that people have dropped off the unemployment rolls because they've stopped looking for work because the US never has enough jobs, right? So which is it? More people need better jobs to get off welfare? Or there aren't enough jobs to go around?
