@vicmo did you see that our fave blogger is back at it? She engaged a GOMI thread and... Oh man, from the sounds of it she's not seeking the help she needs.
I just got back from my 6 week PP check up. Wasn't sure if I'd get the all clear or not, but I did. I went into the bathroom to get something and just busted H manscaping. I'm dying.
DH booked a trip to Amsterdam without asking me for a weekend in January. It is a stop over on the way to London, but he is staying the weekend before his Tuesday meeting in London. The whole reason we decided for me and DD not to join him in London was because of finances. I SAH so we don't have as much disposable income as we use to. So then he goes and books flights for himself to spend a weekend in Amsterdam...hello! The flight is paid for by his work, but he still has to pay for hotel, food, etc in Amsterdam and we use to live there I know it isn't cheap. I am hoping he can stay with an old co-worker of his to cut costs.
He said I should book a girls weekend...there is still the whole finance issue DH!
rbp, she said the nursery is only for tests/procedures/babies who have a medical reason to be there. If the nurses are as wonderful this time as last, I imagine I could sweet talk them into snuggling my kid for awhile if it's slow so I can sleep, but damn.
@vicmo dude, I pay good money for my damn private health insurance. CARE FOR MY CHILD.
That's officially my hospital's policy, too (baby-friendly designation), but the nurse I talked to at the beginning of this pregnancy made it sound like they really just can't offer to take the baby and can't have the baby there over a feeding. Maybe your hospital will allow "mom needs sleep to recover" as a medical reason?

I'm bringing a suitcase full of chocolate for nurse bribes. Just in case.
I think DD had a growth spurt the last 3 days. She's been eating nonstop (yesterday she nursed twice in the morning, ate 15 oz at daycare, and then cluster fed until bedtime), and this morning I tried to put her in an outfit that fit fine last week and it wouldn't even zip.
bowies I've never even heard that boy name. And lolol at the middle name. Hard core old lady! I've met several baby Louise/Eloise lately, but they pale in comparison!
See, I'm a hard-core lover of old-lady names (I like both Louise and Eloise), but man, some names just need to be lost to the passage of time. Or at least not paired with a super trendee name.

I wonder if this is the case.
My nurse was relieved when I asked for a pacifier for DS2. She said she wanted to help me but wasn't allowed to offer it.
bowies, I know 0 boys and several dogs with that first name. And a brand of sunglasses. WTF?
Brie, I know my hospital quit serving wine since DD was born. If they don't take the baby to the nursery anymore, I will legit cry. Those 2 nights of sleep were the only decent blocks of sleep I had for like a month!

I slept until 10a (with half-asleep nursing breaks at 6 and 9) and DH had disappeared with the children by the time I got out of the shower. I assume they're getting gifts for me. I can't see what the kids pick out. It should be hilarious.
Brie at msniq's hospital it was a similar deal to other PPs. By default, the baby stayed in the room with mom, but if you called the nurse at 11pm or 2am and said you needed to sleep they'd move them to the nursery for four hours.
After the travel thread, I hunted for other Mexico AIs and managed to find everything between $250 and $750/night. I'm curious what the extra $500/night gets you.
And DH is running errands with DD in the rain. He's going to come home all pissed because she fought getting in the car seat 35 times. And I will sit quietly and try not to show the I TOLD YOU SO look on my face.
Highlights of the trip include: -My step-sister, who works in a hospital, complaining about a mandatory flu shot and some conspiracy BS of "you don't know what's in those things." - My potential FSIL saying something or other about her customers talking Ebonics and how of course she KNOWS someone named La-a. - My mom just being a generally annoying crazy person. It's not rude to ask when everyone is having kids or done having kids, etc because she is Greek so it's ok. It's just my "perception" that it's rude. She also gave my kid some quote that is deep and he gives no shits about, told me how to parent my kids, and did not actually play with my kids -My step mom not rudely (on purpose) but still mocking the way my 4yo says stuff (like an r in the middle of a word) -My grandma telling DS2 he should have been a girl, which I think I already mentioned
Tonight I will dive headfirst into a trough of wine.
I only liked this because of the La-a Next time you're here, we need to plan a GTG!
Yes! GTG w Windy!
My mom said "The Blacks" yesterday. I lost my shit on her. I swear that's not the way we were raised, idk wth is going on with her.
My manager was supposed to leave at noon but he couldn't take it anymore and left at 11. I was going to leave right after him, but since I want to go shopping, I'm stuck here until after my next pumping session.

Yeah, that's annoying. At the hospital where I delivered, they're big on rooming in and acted like it would be awful if I sent my baby to the nursery. But when it came down to it, the nurse offered and I gladly ant him away.
Biscuit got a free bath at doggie daycare yesterday because he expressed his anal glands while having his nails trimmed. H offered to pay for the bath because whoever got covered in anal excretions deserves a Christmas bonus, but they said it's a hazard of the job. Lol
I do like the Christmas bandanna they put around his neck!

FWP.
I hate that. Happy hours are really difficult too because I have to time the pump session to not miss too much work or be away too long.
DH took DD to the pedi this morning and it's not exactly either of the things we thought (allergies or pinkeye). Well, it kind of is - she's got 2 ear infections which apparently spread to her eyes, so I guess it is also pinkeye. Poor kiddo. She's been acting fairly normal though, except for being mad at diaper changes which is normal plus she's got a diaper rash so we thought it was that, not the lying down part. Anyway, she's home from daycare, and DH had already taken off today but he was hoping for a nice quiet day before his mother arrives. Ah well. I'm helping watch her because I don't have that much work to do today anyway.

My friend's sister had her baby girl and the name is awful. The first name is a trendy-style boy name and the middle name is an old lady name that even old lady name enthusiasts haven't touched.
HOLD UP.
Are they in NV?? I had one pop up on my FB feed today, born 12/21 and I gave it a side-eye.
ETA: Reading further, I'm thinking we're not talking about the same person.
major cleaning is done, I'm going to shower and then go have lunch by myself at my favorite Mexican restaurant that DH hates. Then pedicure time. Then home to make frosting for my sugar cookies because THAT IS HOW ONE DOES SUGAR COOKIES RIGHT!
I just pulled a 4" long candy cane wrapper out of my 2yo DD's anus.
Merry Christmas!
Legit LOL. I was going to share that I recently did the same with a bean sprout, but I have an even better one.
Remember those fruit by the foot fruit rolls ups?
My mom let my little sister eat one without watching, and the wrapper came out, mostly intact, a few days later.
An former coworker's cat used to eat string. I remember him saying they would just have to clip it off little by little daily until it all came out because pulling it could hurt them. So when I saw the wrapper my first thought was OMG, am I going to have to just trim this?
Well fuck you very much insurance. Calling the insurance companies to ask if my providers are in their network led to an answer of "we can't answer that without your policy number." Hello, I don't have a policy. Calling the provider billing office leads to "we need to know the details of your policy." Fuck people, I need to PICK a policy. The one we picked last year on bad info ended up costing us $11k in out of pocket costs. But I guess I'm just gonna base this decision on a web site provider list that you assure me is up to date. Does that mean it's not going to change tomorrow?
