Stretches around the building and is at a minimum 100 persons long. If you are going to Honeybaked Ham, leave now. Mr. P is taking one for the team.
I suggested going elsewhere even though we have a reservation and his comment was wth, I stood in line for Comicon, I can stand in line for ham to make my girls and cats happy. Lol. He's a much better sport than I am.
After the time I had to throw down with a Honeybaked cashier when someone tried to take my reserved (smallish) ham after I had been waiting forever in line, we switched to online ordering. It's been a much more peaceful holiday season since - lol. Our ham arrived yesterday.
I've said it before, but why don't people just have it delivered? I think the delivery charge was $5 when I looked last week, though I decided not to order one this year.
To have one delivered in my area costs as much as the ham. Id rather stand in line. Our store is pretty fast checking people out.

MIL made an online order last year and it didn't arrive on time. Instead, it sat in some shipping warehouse for 3 days without the proper insulation. This year, we decided to buy directly at a Honeybaked Ham store. We got it on Sunday without any RSVP and without any issue.

We should have gone earlier. The crowd said it's worse tomorrow.

I looked into having it delivered this year. It was $15 delivery charge for us. Nope.
DH is going first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully everyone went today.
I just went to the local butcher for short ribs. The place was mobbed. Tons of people getting tenderloins, crown roasts, etc.
Luckily they had a bunch of clerks working and they were super-fast, plus incredibly friendly. Being in the store was actually a snap, but the parking lot was a giant clusterfuck.
My office is also right by a shopping mall, so it's going to be a nightmare trying to leave tonight.

At honey baked, you are not really reserving a ham. They just give you a letter to reference the size range you should get. Basically it is luck of the draw what they actually have.

This is why you order one online and have UPS deliver it right to your door.

Our local store separated pre-orders from walk-in availability. I had pre-ordered the smallest available at the time (6lb I believe) and had confirmation of that. Every other ham in the walk-in case was considerably larger and some chick ahead of me who didn't pre-order kept trying to talk her cashier into giving her my small ham from the reserved case because "she didn't need so much." Well neither did I lady, which is why I pre-ordered! The cashier almost gave in even though he knew he wasn't supposed to sell the hams in that case, which is why I had to throw down.
I went to a local pasta place and it was nearly cleared out. I wish I had planned ahead. Oh well, I still bought my semi homemade meal for Christmas day. I might attempt TJ's in the morning. If I die in this endeavor, it's been real.

Next time for sure. We weren't sure where Christmas was going to be until the last minute this year. Hence, we waited too long to have it shipped. We will plan better or go before Dec 23rd. I know we've picked it up earlier in the past, no line, no fuss. We were just shocked when we pulled up!

I don't think I've ever had a honey baked ham, and DH and I talked about getting one. I was intimidated by the price. Here's to hoping that a Cosco ham equates to what DH as built up in his mind.

If your H hasn't had a Honeybaked ham before, Costco will probably be fine. I've sampled it and it's good.
MH prefers Honeybaked over Costco, but he's weirdly picky about this one thing.
We went to Honeybaked Ham today (we had a ham reservation, lol) and there was no wait. I expected the kind to be around the block. We went to a somewhat hidden Honeybaked Ham Express location though.

hbh is not the best. Not sure costco is any better but that's what I got this year. I'm making my own glaze.
