Can I suggest another challenge? Just-for-fun face/practice face. Experimenting with a technique or color combination that you wouldn't want to wear to work or out in public without practicing first, so you try it out at home/for the board.
Brought to you by how I spent my last 30 minutes. A variation on that would be crazyface, where you start out with a reasonable look and just keep adding and adding to it to see what happens. And no, I'm not posting a pic because I already washed it all off.
What's the LM palette? It's been hard for me to find cool palettes (so far I have the IT Naturally Pretty, LORAC Pro, Stila In the Moment, and Too Faced Beaudoin Eyes, but the IT one seems to be the closest to cool).
I love my Boudoir eyes! I wish they'd make a full size palette with that color scheme/feel.
Sooo....let's say you only ever wear eye shadow, liner, and mascara. That's it. And that you leave the house all the time without a damn thing on your face. And that you haven't worn face makeup since...um...the early 90s. And that maybe you want to look like a better grown up version of yourself without looking like you're trying really hard (and don't want to spend 20 minutes every morning doing it).

Any advice for that?
Mine would be Good moisturizer/sunscreen +/- natural looking foundation like Nars Sheer Glow
This year, would anyone like my blushes, highlighters, foundations. I usually wind up with a few from palettes, sets, and samples. I don't wear those items (I'm pretty much in the eyes and lips only category for face MU) so I'm happy to share with anyone that can use them.
I'd be down for trying new blushes but I probably have enough makeup.

You want basics. You want a foolproof eye palette, something neutral and versatile (Lorac Pro or It Nat Pretty). Get a pinky blush and a peachy blush. You need some lipsticks. For you, as a minimalist, you probably want some light rosy lip colors, maybe Bite Musk and Fig, MUFE 9. Then a BB or CC cream with a Beauty Blender. You could make all this happen for 150$.

This happens to me when I am given just a little too much time to do my makeup. It starts off as everyday look and then next thing I've tried winging out my eyeliner (which no amount of practice helps) and I've added several more eyeshadow colors to finish the look.
My goal is to get a 5 minute eye for everyday wear that I like a lot.
I placed a sephora order today since it's the last day of the 20% off sale items promo. Got the multi brand summer set and a body care set by soap and glory (?) Also ordered solid cleanser for my beauty blenders.
I've been using the bite mini pencil lip color for the past few days and didn't get the hype at first. But, it's pretty long lasting and not drying so I get the love for it now.
The Smoked palette is 20 bucks with an extra 20% off, worth it?
I LOVE mine but if you have Smashbox On the Rocks (the smaller one), don't do it. They are practically the same.
Speaking of UD, I have that $50 off purchase code and I can't decide if I want the Electric palette or Vice. I didn't have a hard on for Vice but as much as I love the look of the electric palette, I'm not sure I would use it all that often.
I have the Smoked palette, I have no interest in Naked On the Run. I have dupes for all of the Naked palettes that I'm perfectly happy with. I bought the big ass eyeliner set which is how I got the code in the first place. I don't need more primer. I don't buy expensive lipstick so . . .
Electric, Vice, or does anyone have other suggestions from UD?
Also, I bought Brow Wiz and I looooooove it. My brows are pretty and filled it but it didn't take look and didn't go power brows on me either. So I'm totally happy right now.

Tinted moisturizer, cream blush, and a NYX butter gloss in a neutral color.

A good tinted moisturizer or natural-looking foundation, blush, and lipstick or gloss would round out your look nicely. What is your skin like? Any concerns?
Is there a tutorial for how to pick a good blush shade? I wear mostly warm tones and have a hard time finding a good blush that doesn't make me look like a clown.
MUT 3.0 was my Everest and...I didn't even make base* camp.
So, time to lay it all out: haven't changed up my makeup regime in 10 YEARS.
Here are my tried and trues:
BB sheer finish pressed powder in pale yellow Nars Orgasm blush BB Bone, Navajo, Heather Mauve, Smokey Charcoal(?) eye shadows Smashbox O-Gloss Dior Show mascara
I DON'T EVEN HAVE A NAKED PALETTE.
::waits to see how many CEP MU laws I've broken::
*MU PUN
I fit right in with this routine. I've been using BB cream shadows for about 6 years. Since I had a make up lesson from them for my wedding. I started with Bone, went to Navajo when it was discontinued and the same with Heather Mauve. Orchid was the closest match for a while. I just checked and it looks like that one's gone and Heather is back? I did switch it up last time. I wanted to be a bit more adventurous so I got Beach Honey as my light color. I definitely in a rut, but I don't like anything but a purple shade on my eyes and I don't know if I can go back to powder after using the creams. They stay on so much better for me.

Tinted moisturizer, mascara, a neutral eye shadow (like Naked basics), eye liner, a basic/neutral blush and a go to lipstick. You can be done in five minutes (with some practice).

Brow Wiz or Dipbrow?
I did the math on the LORAC Unzipped blush and although I love the look of it, it is outrageously expensive per ounce given that I would never use the lipstick and that I already own a ton of blush. heyjude, what was the elf dupe you posted? If I feel compelled to play, I may give that a whirl instead.

My only recent makeup purchase has been the Nars Velvet Matte lip color in Dragon Girl. I'm anxiously checking the mail every day to see if it's here yet. I'm obsessed with red lips lately because I'm a year behind everyone else and I cannot wait for this!
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Drugstore: NYX blush in taupe / mominatrix can recommend one too I think...
Prestige: Benefit hoola
ETA: It might have been NYC's, I've read a lot of good reviews about that one.
for the highlight, Wet N Wild "bronzer" in Reserve Your Cabana is a HG product. It's amazing. And cheap. It's been compared to the Ambient Light thingies, and my guess is it's similar.
read the Makeup Alley reviews. these folk are serious, and they're right, it's amazing. And it's four bucks, and that's without a BOGO that always seems to be there for WnW products somewhere.
For the contouring element, I want to pick up the NYX, but right now I'm using the Milani XL Bronzer (only the matte side) and it's pretty great.
Forgive me, I'm still a newbie when it comes to contouring. Do highlighters need to be lighter than your natural skin tone? Basically what I'm asking is, can this pale as death girl use the Wet N Wild bronzer as a highlighter?

you can use it as a bronzer or for contouring. Highlighter is usually shimmery and makes you glowy. Highlighter/bronzer are used together to "contour." I actually have the WnW Fergie collection highlighter and like it a lot. A little goes a long way. Too much and you get into disco ball territory.

This. All this.
Cheap tinted moisturizer I love is the Garnier BB cream. I can throw it on without even glancing in a mirror if I need to. Naked basics great for eye a basic eye, or grab one of the Too Faced palettes if you want to try a bit more color, they have a little more pop without being overwhelming, and little cards with tutorials on how to apply the colors.
All you have to add is eye-liner and blush and a neutral lip color to your repertoire, and do it more often. It's just practice really. Once you have those down you can decide if that's enough, or if you want to make more of an adventure out of it.
Does anyone know if Vice will be available at Sephora again? I want it so badly, and Ulta doesn't have locations or ship to Canada.
I'm excited to be posting in this thread finally!! I'll have to post my makeup stash so I have some street cred over here ?
I hope for your sake that Vice 3 does come back in stock. It's an awesome palette, much loved around here. Nah, you don't need street cred over here, just start posting. Like I said, I didn't have any makeup whatsoever at the beginning of April 2014. Now I'm a palette hoarder. LOL
