I think American Gods by Neil Gaiman was my favorite. I know he's been around awhile, but I discovered him last year and look forward to reading more of his stuff (any recs?)
Inamorata by Megan Chance was also really good, and so was The Golem and the Jenni by Helene Wecker.
By far the worst book was The Great Glass Elevator by Roal Dahl. I read that with my son and OMG it's terrible! And kinda racist.
Crazy For Her by Sandra Owen was pretty awful, too. It was a Kindle First and it was just short enough that I hate-read the whole thing.
Total for the year- 37. This is the first time I've ever kept track, but I bet this about average for me.
I found some new mystery series this year, and I read David Mitchell for the first time. It wasn't a standout reading year for me, though -- not too many fabulous books.

Best overall- The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. Really love this book. Worst was Murder in Thrall by Anne Cleeland. I really liked it at first, but the plot devolved into an insane hot mess. I hate-read the second one. New author I really like- Wesley Chu. The Deaths of Tao was a lot of fun.
