Hey there! I just wanted to let you know that I ended up getting a rice cooker for Christmas. I never mentioned which one to get, but my husband ended up buying a Tiger brand one. It's large ( I think it ends up making 10 cups of cooked rice), and I think it was on the pricier side, but it is awesome. I don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.
Friends of ours have the same one, so I am sure my husband probably asked our friend which one they had.
One question, do you always wash your rice? We typically cook jasmine (we buy Goya), and reading the rice cooker directions it says to wash the rice. I've never done that in the past, but I am sure it serves some purpose.

It's hard to say. The rice cooker rice was just overall so much better, so I can't really attribute it to washing or the fact that the rice cooker just kicks ass at making rice.
Do you notice any difference between washed and unwashed? I can't not wash it because it's just not right to me, LOL, but I'm curious whether you could tell between the two.
Fried rice with leftover rice is the best. Enjoy your new toy!
Huh, interesting! I've always washed my rice too, exactly the way you do. That's how my mom taught me. I wonder how different the rice tastes if you don't wash it?
