Can we talk again about skin products? Mainly I'm looking for face recs. We allllllll know my face suffered through the stress of the past 6 months and it's finally on the mend (hooray), but are there any restorative products that you would recommend that could maybe help with the splotches and/or redness still healing on my face? I haven't used anything still but dove soap (I know, bad me) so I'd appreciate and am ready to try new things. Also, anti-aging stuff would be a bonus.
I'm currently using NIA24's skin strengthener. It's not uber moisturizing, so I only use it during the day. My pores are smaller, fine lines have faded a bit and my overall tone is much more even. It's pricey (I get it from our skin lady at work).
My skin is "reactive", meaning it gets angry easily if it's too dry--so I have to be careful with what I use.
I've also had good luck with Aveeno and the Simple line of products.
I wish I could help. I've come to the realization that my skin is really sensitive and pretty much all the anti-aging stuff has chemicals in it that bother me. I've recently started using Aveeno's basic moisturizer and like it. it doesn't bother me.
I use this to wash my face every morning in the shower:
And this for a moisturizer every morning:
And that's it. I don't wear makeup or use anything else. I'm 32, my skin is dry but turns oily if I don't shower every day, and I get eczema (but rarely on my face).
Check out Paula's Choice products. You can chat with one of their customer service reps and get help figuring out what would be best to try. I love that they sell sample packets so you don't have to invest much to try them. I use mostly PC products and love them so much.

YES thank you, I remember you mentioning this before. Sorry I didn't take note, I was a hot mess.
Paula's Choice is the best stuff EVER. Give them a try, I will only use their products on my face. Their acne line is the only thing that has ever made a notciable difference with my skin and I will forever love them for that. Their other stuff is awesome as well and like tiramisu said, you can buy sample for cheap so you can try first.

You're fine! You're allowed to not remember everything I say.
I really like Philosophy. The Eye Hope is awesome. Roc has really great anti aging stuff.
My skin was never worse than during the divorce. It's amazing what stress can do. Glad you are on the upswing.
Yes, my face and body have been through so much, I had no idea what stress could do. Hopefully I'm on the right side up now in all directions.. for the most part.

You and me both. A friend of mine started selling Mary Kay stuff, so I went to some event thing to support her, and the reps all asked me what my normal facial care routine was. You should have seen the looks of absolute horror on their faces when I said "Uh, soap and water?"

A friend who stayed with me last weekend asked, "Can I borrow your face wash?" And I stared at her and was like, "here's the soap."

My skin is WAY too dry for that. OMG I can't even imagine.
Does PC have any knowledge if RX face stuff and how it compares to their products? I have an RX moisturizer that has a mild antibiotic in it and it is so awesome. Except last time I had it filled it was $85! I'm too poor for that but I miss it so much.
