My brother went to HS with a swimmer who went to.....Sydney? Maybe Greece. I knew him too (the swimming world in Baltimore is small, which is how I met Michael Phelps years before he was Michael Phelps, and just a kid who needed his card for his event, and my brother's HS was pretty small relatively) but anyway, I wouldn't say my brother was friends with that other kid. The guy was a real ass apparently. But I liked him bc he was also super hot. LOL. How deep we are at 15...
One of H's oldest friends has been living for multiple winters at the Olympic training facility in Lake Placid for skeleton but he has never actually made the team.

My old neighbor is a three time Olympic hockey player. I wasn't good friends with her (she is a few years older than me) but I watched her play hockey in the street ALL the time as a kid!

We looked at a house that is owned by a former women's bobsledder. So I haven't actually met her, but I have looked in her kitchen cabinets, lol. It was a small modest house. Apparently bobsledding is not wildly lucrative.

A family friend qualified when we boycotted Moscow for rowing. She is one tough woman! She's a huge community fitness advocate now and owns her own rowing company.
Does being smashed in the face by a volleyball spiked by Jordan Larson in highschool count? I had a backwards 'Wilson' imprinted on my forehead for several minutes :-(
