Bad FSH results

Wow, I'm in shock right now. I know that I need to wait for all the numbers and my consult, but I was not expecting this.

I'm 36, for reference. CD3 bloodwork just done, and my FSH came back at 15.6. I've gotten pregnant twice in the past 9 months that we've been TFAS, but had miscarriages both times.

Anybody know a lot about FSH? Google is freaking me out. I don't even know how this would be treated!

Hugs. I don't know much about the numbers either. I hope it isn't as bad as you think. There are def woman on the main board with fsh problems do you might want to post there.

I'm sorry. I'm not dealing with secondary infertility as we're still hoping for a first but I saw the post title on the main TTTC board. I recently was found to have FSH of 11.5 and AMH of 0.75, meaning my diagnosis is Diminished Ovarian Reserve. My understanding is that one of these hormones indicates egg quality and the other egg quantity. Both of my numbers are bad, so I can't remember which is which. We're starting IVF next cycle. Have you had your AMH tested yet? When do you talk to your doctor next? (((Hugs))) I know how hard it is.

Thanks so much for the support and input. I'll apparently have AMH tested now that the FSH has come back elevated. I haven't even met the doctor yet, as they do the testing first, and we still need to do the SA and HSG.

I'm so sorry you're in the same place, and I hope your IVF cycle is successful!

I'll post on the main board once I get all my results.

A non-update: AMH ordered, and I'll have blood drawn for that tomorrow. They said results will take 3 weeks, but went ahead and scheduled our consult for after they'll be in. With H's travel schedule, that bumped us out another week, so we've got a full month's wait. I need to figure out how to relax about this and not borrow trouble until we have our consult.

My diagnosis is high FSH as well. For me it is indicative of poor egg quality since my ovarian reserve is fine. I haven't had it checked in about 2 years but it was 11.5 then, up from 10 the year before.

Thanks for checking in! I finally had my first appointment, and AMH is at 0.25. He basically said he'd give me 50% odds if we did IVF with ICSI, or 80% if I wanted to do donor eggs. I think we're only willing to do up to IUIs, though, as we're totally out of pocket and I can't stomach $20k right now.

Remind what the ICSI is? I thought that was helpful with male factor IF?

Yes, you're right. We kind of moved on quickly, because we said we're not going to do it at this time, but it is to help with MFI. H had low motility and not great morph too. I was annoyed that the doctor shut me down when I asked how he could improve that. H isn't very healthy, so I was hoping this would be a kick in the pants (I saw his results online and researched).
