First trip across an ocean? Well, I guess it would be when my parents took me to NYC on a plane. I was 2-3 months. There's a picture of my mom breast feeding me in a restaurant in the Waldorf Astoria. Heh. But I'm from the Caribbean, so seeing the Atlantic was second nature.

First overnight trip I planned on my own - my bold move to where I currently live, 15 years ago. I have told my job that I was going on a vacation. I gave myself 2 weeks to find a job, otherwise, I would have to go back. Luckily, I got 2 offers by the beginning of the second week.

First trip on a plane? I was 16. I went with my mom and aunt to Savannah to visit my uncle. We had a bad experience on the return flight. I still hate flying to this day.
First trip across an ocean (either by plane or by boat)? I was 21 and visiting a friend who was studying abroad in London. That was a really great trip!
First overnight trip you planned on your own (without parents, school, clubs, etc)? Went to Cortland NY when I was 18 to visit a friend who was studying there at the time. Not sure if that counts because it was just to visit a friend, but I didn't travel when I was a child (my mom and dad always just worked and took the skipped vacation check), so it was really exciting to me at the time.
First stamp in your first passport? London
First stamp in your current passport? Well, it was my Australian visa. The first stamp was when I left Sydney to go home to NY for a visit.
First trip on a plane? I was 6 months old. But the first plane ride I really remember was when I was 9.
First trip across an ocean (either by plane or by boat)? See above.
First overnight trip you planned on your own (without parents, school, clubs, etc)? My cousin and I spent a month in France when I was 15. We weren't totally independent, as our parents paid for the tickets and we stayed with my mom's family... but it was on me to communicate/translate, manage my money and plan/arrange all the logistics. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The first trip I paid for/planned totally on my own was when I was 18. My friend and I went to Chicago for St. Patrick's Day.
