We never really "set boundaries" when my parents moved here and it is fine. We all naturally have found a rhythm. Probably the only informal rule is don't show up unannounced on either stuff.
Yeah, I mean more the boundaries of planning the move. I'm all excited and want to get the ball rolling and send her links and set up a meeting with a realtor for her. But I know I need to lay back and let them do it on their own schedule.
Is she tech savvy? Has a smartphone? You could tell her about the Redfin app, which is how we found our house. That way you could have the fun times of looking at houses "together" (both using the app), without involving a realtor.

Ds and I are home sick today, except neither of us are really very sick. I didn't want to get up and DS did have a fever over night, if slight.
I instructed H to pick up a few things this morning, including apple sauce and Gatorade. Nothing he got correct. I debated sending him a very detailed list but figured I would give him a shot. Wahhhhh to glazed donuts instead of cinnamon sugar!
I have a genuine love affair with Matthew McConaughey.
This reminds me.
I came home from a work trip 2 (?) weeks ago and my kindle fire had a huge ass crack in it. I don't remember dropping it, and H has no reason to use it, so I just kind of shrugged it off. It still works fine. Went to watch Girls the other day, and the HBO app recently watched show was True Detective, which I've never watched. He can't watch HBO go on his ipad mini or roku, so I guess he used my kindle and must have cracked it and lied about it. Bah. Oh well, I'm not too pissed but you bet your ass I will be pulling that one out for blackmail purposes in the future.
At my work, the water is not drinkable, so they have always provided bottled water. They are having a contract dispute with the water vendor, so we have no water at all. There are soda vending machines, but I don't want to drink soda. I can bring my own water bottle, but I drink more than one a day, so that's not a perfect answer either. I'm just annoyed. What kind of employer doesn't provide drinkable water?
DD1 is at school and DD2 is at home (thanks, impetigo!) so I've set her up in front of Frozen with my Cheezeit stash while I paint the living room. It's totally working.
I might have to take the batteries out of the puzzles with sound. OMG, so annoying and the single most common cause of ghost toy noises in our house but dd loves doing them and plays with them on her own. I'm torn. I wish they had an off switch

Why are rental prices so expensive. I'm planning for our upcoming trip to florida and trying to find a place for DD to sleep. THere is a rental place down the street, but a pack n play is $40 for a week. I can buy a cheap one from amazon for the same price and have it delivered down there. So, now I'm trying to figure out if we have any need to another pack n play, cause it seems silly to spend that to rent it. (or maybe I'm totally overthinking this and just need to rent it).

Don't ever work for the government. We are just happy to have office supplies and heat that works. LOL And FWIW, I bring my own gallon jug of water to work and keep it in my office.

Maybe buy one and leave it in the closet of the rental place for the next people?

Yes! We have a farm one and the pig squealed just as I turned out the lights before heading to bed. I screamed and woke everyone up. :/. Batteries came out that night!
I am freaking out today about picking a school for DD, who just turned 2 at the end of Nov. She will be starting school in September because it is based on your birth year. We have a choice of any school...public, private or a combo. We will have to enroll DD the second week in March so I need to decide a school. Of course all the material/website is in Spanish so it takes forever to do research.
I am convinced that we can't afford private, but DH thinks otherwise. The private school near our house is €15,000/year so like $17,500/year for a freakn' 3 year old! This doesn't include food, uniforms, transportation or books/materials. I didn't even pay that much for my college degree...state school. DH thinks we could afford a cheaper private school...yeah bus service alone is like $5,000/year plus a cheaper private school tution is more than we can spend per year.

Reposting from last night because I need validation: I'm trying to sell DH on the merits of buying another stroller. We have a single bob and b-agile, plus a new sit n stand for the mall and such. I want to get a double jogger so I can have both kids strapped in for long walks. Not crazy, right?
Also, my inlaws are going to be a 5 hour drive from us this weekend and my MIL keeps asking if we're sure we don't want to come visit (they live out of state). No, we're not driving 10+ hours in two days with a 2 year old and a 7 week old. Sorry. Miss you too, but nope.

Maybe you could sell the single Bob to help fund the new one?
I thought of that, but what if DS is in preschool and I want to walk with just one kid? Would people point and laugh at my half empty double stroller?
I'm at home sick today, but waiting on someone to call me about a work thing. She was supposed to call 30 minutes ago. I tried calling her but she's on the line. I just want to go back to bed
Pedi said double ear infection was starting, but lungs sound good, cough is just from drainage. So we have antibiotics and hopefully she'll start perking up soon.
DS slept beautifully last night. I think this growth spurt has ended. He ate at 10:30 and slept until 5:00!!! After he ate again I went back to sleep until 7:00 when DD woke me up saying she wet the bed. She has been potty trained since summer and this is the first time she has ever done this. I don't know why she didn't wake up to use the toilet all of a sudden, but I can't be too frustrated since this is the first time. Also, pee got on her pillow. I put it in the wash, I hope that's good enough to get the pee out!
If it's not, I've found that Nature's Miracle (for cat pee) works very well on human pee too.
Thanks. It's still in the wash so I have my fingers crossed that it comes out clean!
I have been pouring my brain trying to figure out who undecidedowl's post is about. There are only three posts before hers and one is about children waking up early and boobs being engorged, one is about not having clean water to drink, and one is about HFM disease. What is the "must be nice" in reference to? Several people liked it so they must be seeing something I'm not.
BTW we've done randoms threads since the beginning of time. Is your complaint that they are TOO RANDOM?

The roads were dry today, so even though it was cold I biked everyone to school. My husband came home to seduce me, so nice to not have to worry about kids interrupting.
Today is "deal with government agencies for mom" day. Item 1: "Save her spot" in the waitlist for senior housing, which you have to do every month because god forbid poor people forget this and get kicked off the waitlist. Item 2: make sure that "household" for health insurance means "tax filing unit" (it does) so that we don't have to list our incomes on her Medicaid renewal form (how many people are going to get this wrong?). Item 3: phone consultation with a local disability attorney, hopefully they will pick up her case.
Being poor sucks. At least the Obamacare exchange is well staffed. I was only on hold for like ten seconds!

Maybe it is because the baby in the op is sleeping and that is why tft is engorged? That is all I can figure.

I didn't get it either.
I'll say it. I ass-ume it's the combo of complaining about one kid waking up "early" when they are never up before 7:30 (sleeping in by many's standards) plus complaining about another kid sleeping too late. For people in the throes of sleep issues, it's very brag-plainy.
I'm at the OBGYN to get my IUD out. When I walked in with dd2 in the stroller, a doctor was in the lobby and said "Oh, how sweet! A baby!" Then she looked at dd2 and said "No, wait! A big kid!"
WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT. MY BABY IS STILL A BABYYYYYY
