I'm having so many feelings about returning to work. I'm happy for opportunity and dual income again but sad about not SAH anymore. I'm all over the place.
I think a new work wardrobe/retail therapy is in order this weekend.
Yep. They're 13 weeks but 6 weeks adjusted. Its been rough since they were about 6 weeks. Its not as bad since we pushed bedtime up and they're awake more during day so now thats their fussy time.
This was a really hard period for us. I'd say 6-9 weeks adjusted was worst sleep wise. So so hard. It does get better.
The funny thing is nights are getting better for bedtime. We put them down around 8 pm and they go down with little fuss - sometimes none at all. And wake 1-2 times overnight. So that is good. But now daytime is awful. I follow the EASY method and they get bored so fast playing since I'm limited on what activity I can do. Then they fight me for naps and I know are beyond tired. The weather has been crap until now so today I went to Kohls for 1 hour and they slept like rocks.

DD keeps trying to knock me down and yelling "Touchdown!"
DH and the big kids are going out of town this weekend and I have no idea what I'm going to do with DS2. What do you do all day with a 5mo old? DH and I were trying to remember what it was like with just one baby. "I think we went for a lot of walks? I don't know." I might take him to Petco to look at the fish or something. Lots of time to fill.
Our girl scout meeting got done early tonight so the girls went upstairs to play in E's room. Only instead they went in Corbin's and trashed it. E didn't instigate it and I know the girl who did it. Still...she knows to stay out of brothers room. They never pulled this before.
DD loves to turn the music on her toys and dance. She bops around on her hands and knees or standing on her knees. I don't know where she learned it because I have not taught her to dance to music.
I am interviewing people to look for a mother's helper for my mom. This is a pain.
I bought like 50 boxes of cookies last year from an old co-worker to return a favor to her. My plan was to hand out the boxes out to referring offices. Except the baby got in the way and we still have like 30 boxes of cookies sitting in my office. Did you know they print an expiration date on the cookies, and it is only like 6 months after I bought them? Now when I give them to people, I feel like I have to say "please ignore the expiration date, we ate the cookies right before giving them to you and they are fine." I mean I don't want someone to judge us because we are giving them expired cookies? But they're Girl Scout cookies, like anyone is going to care they expired!
Or the other solution is for me and my assistant to eat all of them. I opened a yellow box of some lemony type of crunchy cookie on Monday - yum!
I have a dumb will / estate question (not seeking legal advice). If H and I both passed away, and B (and any future kid) went to live with my sister, then she could use funds from our estate for things like buying a bigger house, right? I mean, yes, right?
Brought to you by niq 's Being a Motherfucking Adult year and estate discussions with my H.
I think you can set it up however you want. You can also have person A be responsible for the kid and person B be response for the money.
I fell into a rabbit hole of reading posts on other forums where everyone has like 20 high days their first cycle using Clear Blue Fertility Monitor. Guys, I can't do it 20 days in a row. I'm no rikki
Confession--I have like no sex drive, but I got pregnant when we finally just had sex every day after my period until I got sick (unrelated). It was probably 20 days.
Finished going through all of dd's old clothes and got them sorted and stored This is everything I'm keeping, newborn-24m. Um, whoa! The hanging stuff is her nicer stuff and heirloom pieces (including feltman bros dresses my sisters and I wore as babies).
Thanks to all of the fellow clothes hoarders who gave advice. One of the diaper boxes has the 3 gender neutral items I have: 2 infant nightgowns and a solid white onsie. Lol.
