Ugh. I hate the "you have to stop bfing if they can ask for it" and the "you can't bf a child with teeth". BFing a 6 year old is not for me, but I've come to a place where I honestly don't feel I have to judge and shame someone that decides to do it. I think that place is called "maturity".

Lol ds got teeth at 5 months. I remember people telling me to stop nursing then. Also babies do ask to be nursed they just cry instead of ask with words.

I KNOW. I actually wrote a reply about how a. if she does pump, she's probably not getting much at this point and b. nursing is about way more than just the milk, but had to delete it b/c their format clearly showed my company, and we have a social media policy against that.

People should do what they and their child wants. If it's a relationship where both parties are happy, carry on. If that's bf-ing once a week at 6 years old, so be it. I don't think there are any magic powers from doing so, though, and that part was also weird.

That said, I actually do agree with her that the mom who is breastfeeding the 6 yo should not have revealed that publicly for the sake of her daughter's privacy. There is a chance that the little girl would prefer--either now or in the future--that the fact that she nursed for over 6 years remain private. I can only imagine how upset my 7 yo would be if I shared that information publicly and he ended up teased by his friends over it.

Agreed. I had a security blanket until I was 8. I was embarrassed by it and didn't want anyone to know I still had one.

Between the Belle and Beau thing, the assertions that her "mama's milk" has made her child taller and given her musical talent, and the obvious smugness, I am pretty sure I would find this woman really annoying. And if I am being honest, I suspect many (most?) women who nurse their kids until they are 6.5 yo are somewhat annoying and/or smug. I am not about to stop them from doing it or yell "gross!", though.

I hadn't even thought about that. But now that you point it out, I actually think that naming your kids after a famous Disney couple is worse than naming them the masculine and feminine versions of the same French word.

She advises all women (regardless of childbearing status) not to run, ever.
