Has anyone had any experience bidding for an upgraded seat on an Aer Lingus flight? Apparently, they have a bidding system that works similarly to Priceline, where you say what you would pay for an upgraded seat and see if you "win" when it gets closer to the time of your flight. You have to pick an amount and enter your payment info at one time, and if you win, they charge you. Has anyone done this, or had any experience similar? I'm curious to see if it's something you could get a deal on, or if it's hard to get before I do it. TIA!
If you are still looking for info, try the Aer Lingus board on Flyertalk. I have not flown with them, but I've been offered a one-way upgrade for $500 upon checking in with AA for a DFW-LHR flight. $300 might be worth it to me, but $500 wasn't.
