We're hoping to do an AI vacation in early December. I haven't done an AI since my younger days when we hit up Cancun. I'm thinking Cabo but there are so many choices, I have no idea where to even begin to narrow it down. The girls will be 5 and 3, so we'd like something with a kids' club so we could do one or two dinners alone.
Any thoughts?
Anyone have a travel agent they'd recommend? I'm not usually a TA person but I thought it might help with a room upgrade.
I've only done AIs with adults only so no recs on kid friendly spots. (Although I'm trying to convince DH we should take a trip with our 18 mo son...)
Anyway I do have a travel agent rec - Beach Bum Vacations, Melissa. I was so nitpicky picking a spot for vacation and she was so helpful with suggestions and answering my questions. All of it was done through email and I think one initial phone calll. Google them.
We have done AIs with our kids (similar in age to yours) in Mexico and Dominican Republic. It depends on your expectations and budget. There are many places that are also kid-friendly at many different $$ levels. Also, the resorts we have been to did not allow the 3 year old to be in the kids club without parents - only 4 years old and over. We still used this kids club, just went with him.
We recently stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun. We have also stayed at the NOW Larimar in Punta Cana. Both places had good and bad things about them, but we had a great time each place.
We also went with additional family, which helped with the childcare too.
I have heard good things about the Beaches resorts for families, but have not stayed there.
I've taken my son to Cabo a few times and have owned a timeshare there for 15 years. I highly recommend the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. They have an AI option and the food is really good. If you decide on Cabo PM I have a ton of info of things to do with kids
