We are going to WDW in a few weeks. H needs walking shoes he can wear with shorts. He never wears anything but rainbows with his shorts. He is not a sneaker guy, and he scoffed when i suggested hiking sandals. Any shoe suggestions? What does your husband wear? Some sort of fashion sneak? He is 35, so hesitant about skater brand shoes (feels too old to wear them). He is so damn picky. I'm going crazy.

tell him to find something comfortable, even if it looks dorky. it's WDW, you'll be walking approximately 94 miles a day and i PROMISE there will be someone there in dorkier shoes.
I think I'm going to order some if these. He tends to wear his Clark's Originals with all jeans. These are similar in feel. Maybe once he tries them on, he will be sold.

I agree! The main concern is buying some shoes he will never wear again.

For a sandal, rainbows are not too bad. They do have an arch to them. The skater styles would not be comfortable for walking all day. They are flat and don't have much bend to them. Does he have any running or athletic shoes? They would not look amazing but they would be comfortable.
The Nohea Mesh (olukai) look interesting. Lightweight, would dry fairly quickly if wet. Stbx has about a half dozen different pairs of olukai shoes- they're all really great.

My brother and uncle had a half hour conversation at Christmas about their love for olukai slip ons. It was kinda weird.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." - Unknown
Dh has several styles of Olukai shoes, slip ons, and flip flops. He also loves his Rainbows. He also likes Puma's and Tiger Onitsuka sneakers as well as Keen sneakers.

Also, he just might not think sneakers are comfortable.
They tend to make my feet hot and uncomfortable. Plus, if it rains or they get wet, they're soggy. I usually only wear my sneakers if my feet are just really aching and I need more than my sandals can give me. So maybe once a trip, maybe none.
But I wear sandals and flip flops at home almost all the time, and only wear sneakers when working out. I just don't think they're super comfortable.
So he might find sneakers uncomfortable also.
I hate wearing sneakers; for the same reasons as you. I grew up in Florida, so I blame it on a childhood of sandals, flip flops, and bare feet!

I told my DH to go out and get himself a pair of sneakers to take with us for our Disney World trip last November. He came home with the white all-leather Nikes. I told him they look like old man shoes. He scoffed at me.
At Disney World we saw an elderly man being pushed around in a wheelchair wearing the exact same sneakers as DH.

My husband has a pair of soft leather slipons that he wears when he needs to be more formally dressed but in warm weather clothes. He says they're like wearing slippers. Alternatively, he wears a pair of Vans.
