DH's insurance has a $35,000 a year cap on ABA therapy which means we hit the cap at the end of January each year (they are a July 1 fiscal year). DS then gets no more therapy until the benefits start over on July 1. We just got a letter from DH's HR department that not only are they lifting the cap, but they are making it retroactive to July 2012! We were about to stop his therapy for the year and now not only can he continue, but he can get added hours if he needs them.
You guys, his therapy is $150 an hour. There is no way to pay this out of pocket. This is beyond a game changer for us. I am beside myself that my sweet boy can get the help he needs. Best. News. Ever.

Amazing! ABA is such a game changer for so many kids on the spectrum. DD gets so much out of it and has made amazing progress its ridiculous that it isn't fully covered.

That's awesome news! I work in the field in a similar role (former ABA therapist turned consultant/supervisor), and I can still only guess at how much of a relief this is for your family!
