Well, I feel like an idiot! We have a wedding tonight, or so I thought. Our plan was to head up around noon, check into the hotel and relax for a while, then get ready to go. Just now I looked at the invite to see where the church is, and the ceremony is at "1:00 in the afternoon" with reception to follow. I don't think I've ever been to a Saturday daytime wedding so I just assumed it was the usual evening affair. Glad I happened to look or we would have missed everything! So now I have to start getting ready and give ourselves time to get there since it's snowing and about an hour away. I guess I'll have to wear my snow boots into the church??
I'm going to the bra shop this morning to get a couple of nursing bras. I'm hoping the stretchy type will work buying a bit ahead. I'll go back and get a couple of nice nursing bras before I go back to work.
We are heading to IKEA today to get a dresser and shelving for the baby's room. I am hoping to get a pedicure too. I also want to finish reading Unbroken. It is a good book!

Just got a text that my friend is in labor! She was due Valentine's Day but was measuring big and her water broke this morning. She has her epidural already and everything. So excited for her! She's team Green so I'm curious to know if my feeling of boy for her was right.
It's snowing and my pup is LOVING it. We just put stuff for beef stew in the crock pot and I plan on not leaving all day. I am still exhausted from my trip to California and I haven't recovered quite yet.
Also I ordered a Christmas outfit on sale from jcrew baby and OMG it's so damn cute. I also got some cute maternity shorts with side panels that will come in handy in Mexico and Hawaii! Woo!

I'm trying to get rid of this headache so we can run to the store soonish. I need some color catcher things because I want to wash all the baby things this weekend. My friend made a beautiful quilt and she normally gives some color catchers too for the first wash because they are such bright colors! I also figure I'll wash all the clothes together with one of those so I don't have to worry so much about colors bleeding. We washed all the bottles and pump parts last weekend so nesting is in full swing! H is being "more laid back" about it all but I keep reminding him baby could be here anytime between now and about a month from now, and I'm not doing any of this while completely sleep deprived with a newborn!
I finally bit the bullet and signed up for Amazon Prime since it's on special for $72 today. I figured it might come in handy when the baby arrives.
I went into Target to buy milk yesterday and walked out with a set of onesies and matching bibs. When I showed H, he pretty much rolled his eyes and was like, and so it begins. Lol. He's lucky this baby isn't a girl because the shopping would be 100x worse!

If you have Prime you can sign up for Amazon Mom for free. I think it saves you more on diaper and wipe subscriptions and if you create a baby registry with Amazon, you get a 15 percent completion discount instead of 10 percent.

We're heading out to tour our top baby shower venue shortly. I'm wanting a more fancy breakfast/brunch and this this may be exactly what we're looking for.
estrellita you are getting stuff done faster then me! DH is still on me about packing a bag. I still haven't washed up all the clothes or anything.
So, today will be cleaning/freezer cooking/working in the nursery. Just want to get some stuff done!
Yeah, I need to get a list together for my bag too, haha. We also need to install the car seats and see if the fire station will inspect them for us. I'm somewhat freaked out (for no real reason) that at my appointment on Monday they will find something wrong and say baby is coming now, so that's kinda why I'm in such a hurry!
I just bought 4 pairs of maternity jeans and 2 sweaters on gap for $80. I picked 4 different styles in 3 sizes so hopefully at least one pair works! I don't quite need them yet but my pants are getting more uncomfortable by the day and I love getting a good deal.

crazy pregnant lady moment: i am watching Gilmore girls, the episode where Lorelai is young and about to give birth to Rory and she runs to the hospital all alone without her parents or parents and has no support. I am sitting here sobbing because I thought about how sad that is. lol.
I have a new complaint. These days I feel like I have to pee three times in a row before I feel like I don't have to go anymore. I'll leave the bathroom and have to immediately go back. It's annoying.
Here's my random: my sister can stress me out and be a downer. My mom decided to host a shower for me and told me my sister will help. When I brought it up to my sis, she was really nonchalant about it and acted like my mom doesn't even want to host one, even though She offered. Now I feel bad about it and sort of like I don't want her to do it
DH is getting excited. We had a good discussion today about what we need to do: nursery, baby proofing, setting up college savings and our will (which has to include our frozen embryos per our contact with the RE office), buying a larger vehicle for me, how to manage our work schedules and childcare, etc. I'm so glad to see this excitement from him! And he says bye to my belly most mornings, and good night to it most evenings.
AND I got my 7FAM skinny jeans last night and they're wonderful! They look so cute on, and are very stretchy.
I'm kind of enjoying the snowy day! Good excuse to take it easy and stay home. I really need to start cleaning out the office. So much to do! But we have plans to get a few big projects done so I'm feeling a little better.
We did the huge furniture shopping research trip last weekend. Bought the crib and I think we've picked out a dresser and maybe a chair. I Can't wait to get the nursery set up!

After you pee the first time, wait a few seconds and try leaning forward a little. Someone on ML recommended that to me when I was pg with L and it works!

Holy crap, my EDD is in 3 weeks! How did that happen!? I actually feel pretty prepared as far as the house being ready, bags packed, freezer meals made, etc. But I keep telling my husband "I don't think I can do this" in regards to labor. As if I have a choice, lol.
Today we had a lovely lunch date then came home and froze our butts off taking down some of the Christmas lights from the front yard. It's supposed to snow tomorrow so I wanted to get some of it done today and the rest tomorrow morning (it's very cold so doing it all at once wont' work). If we don't get them down before baby arrives, it'll probably be April before we do!!

I'm feeling old right now. We just left the wedding ceremony at the church and I couldn't believe what most of the 20-something's were wearing. Tight mini and I'm talking MINI skirts and dresses with bare legs and 6 inch heels (I am no stranger to high heels, these were more the stripper variety). In a snowstorm! I used to wear these dresses to clubs in Vegas, what happened to cocktail dresses at weddings?
Sigh...let me get my cane and hobble off to the reception.

You can do it!
Thanks! I just keep doubting myself! I'm such a weenie with pain, lol. And I like to whine and complain when I'm in pain, which is not going to be helpful or productive for labor. I'll have to keep reminding myself it is pain with a purpose.
Not for long! (((Hugs))) you'll hold your baby soon
I feel bad, I had to put up a facebook post last night to ask people to stop asking how I'm feeling and if the baby's here. After losing it 3 times yesterday, I couldn't take it anymore. Fortunately people were very receptive to it.
I just explained that when you don't feel great, you're uncomfortable and anxious and tired and kinda miserable, every time someone asks you how you're feeling you have to answer... it's brutal. I asked people to instead send pictures of kittens and recommend some good books. I got an entire thread of adorable pet pictures.

Whoo hoo, we have been productive so far today. Went shopping, one load of baby clothes in the dryer and one in the washer, blankets are next! We installed the car seat bases in both cars and H took the bigger items out of their boxes finally (PnP, swing and high chair). We are relaxing for now until the dryer is done and then we will be getting ready for the hockey game we're going to tonight!

In general I have a low pain tolerance and even though labor hurt it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Moaning during contractions and a low groan/almost growl when I pushed helped too.
Will you have a shower or birth tub? Warm water was really nice for me.
That's good to hear. No tub and I honestly can't remember if the labor room had a shower (from our maternity floor tour). But I plan to try to labor at home as long as possible so I can use ours.

We have a wedding this evening and I waited til this morning to try on dresses to wear. I completely forgot the dress I was planning to wear is backless ie no bra. Yeaaaah, that's not going to work these days.
Cue last minute and ultimately futile trip to the mall.
Thankfully I do have a backup, just not as cute/fun as I'd like.
