So also I deep conditioned my hair with coconut oil and holy crap - my hair feels like it was born again.
How on earth do you do this?
So I literally just slathered raw coconut oil all over my hair and worked it into all the strands and scalp. I stuck a baggy over it and clipped it closed while I took a bath. About an hour to an hour and a half later I rinsed it out and shampooed/conditioned. If you have super dry hair, it's recommended to leave the oil in over night. You can do this one to four times a month (once a week typically)!

I am glad it worked for you doglove. I know lots of people who have had success with it but I am not one of them. It took like 4 washes to get the greasiness from it out of my hair. It was not good.
Hmmm, I'm going to look into this. I have to make sure it won't be too heavy for my hair, because that makes it tangle more for some weird reason. Thanks doglove & cuddlyevil!

Wow really? I almost didn't even need to shampoo afterwards.
doglove, I think I tend to have hair that holds onto things very easily. It holds color really well and so I think that might be why I didn't easily "let go" of the coconut oil. That is just my guess though.

What is your hair like? I'm wondering if this would end up being what happened to me too.
@tiramasu, my hair is thin but I have a shit ton of it.
Like I said, it holds color really well. It also holds scents really well. Like if a restaurant has a certain smell, when I leave my hair smells like it all the time.
I am not sure if that is why it took so many washes to get the coconut oil out but it did and it was not fun.
I have a ransom story! One time in college I drove to my mom's house and took her rake. (What, I had some raking to do!) But I wanted her to think it was stolen.
So I called and left a ransom message on her answering machine. I said in a gravelly voice "I'VE GOT YOUR RAKE!" And hung up laughing.
Later I called to find out what she thought of my "prank," and she said she just thought our elderly neighbor had borrowed the rake. Whomp whomp.
smock I love the idea behind your prank! Too bad your mom ruined it.
cuddlyevilspindle92 my hair is fine and there's tons of it. It's also pretty healthy and takes forever to dry (hangs onto moisture well), so I might end up in the needing multiple washings camp too.
One weekend I got super drunk with friends (shocking, right?) and we decided to go steal the mascot/lawn ornament from the Bob's Big Boy (a local diner). So we rolled up in a pickup truck, pulled ski masks over our face, and stole the big boy. We fully planned to ransom him for a month's worth of buffet breakfasts, but then we chickened out a couple hours later, drove him back to the diner, and dumped him on the lawn and sped off.
I didn't have the courage to hold hostage for ransom!
*Note: We had a sober driver. How they agreed to join us for all of that, I don't know.
LOL. chalupa, I remember there was a rash of thefts of big boys. One got stolen in my hometown (it was on a busy street and everything), people were so pissed.

I don't know if it's the checkered overalls or the hair, but something about him just says "Steal me!".
Does the chain even exist still? I don't really go to OH anymore, so I haven't seen one in years.
