Are you ready for this storm? We are on the fringes of def. getting slammed and maybe not that of big deal. I weep at the thought of being stuck inside for 2 full days but I love big snows so it's exciting. The grocery stores are going to be nuts today!
I feel like the predictions quickly went from 4-6 to almost two feet. I'm really hoping for more so that work will close but have arrangements for childcare in place in case schools are closed.
I think Monday will be OK, esp. early. Just moderate snow, a couple inches. The big storm is supposed to ramp up Monday night, if it does at all here. It could go north. I am on the Bucks/Mont. county line so I am thinking we'll get something. We got 5" Friday night, and I know my parents down in Delco only got a dusting.

My boss lives out there (HV) and I'm in Philly, and we work in town. We're the only two full timers and I can't work without him. I would not mind a snow day on Tuesday!

The latest news report I saw was predicting 1-2 ft, late Monday thru Tuesday. Grocery shoping is all taken care of as well as a batch of chicken soup. I know my boss is going to tell us to work from home but I don't have the Internet hooked up. For that reason, I'm hoping it snows a lot so they have to cancel/use the inclement weather policy; I really don't want to use a PTO day.

We have barely had a dusting this winter so I am SO EXCITED for a big storm. Don't even get me started on the kids - they already have their snow pants on!!!
I had no idea. When I last checked this was a mere clipper with a potential for a dusting to 2". Whta a difference a day makes.
Just arranged for DS to couch surf with his cousin in South Philadelphia so he can get to classes at Temple. Go owls!
The local weather on TV is really downplaying the storm. They are not talking about the "reasonable worst case scenario" which the NWS (who is VERY conservative) has officially posted. I am a weather junkie so I follow several meteorologists online who are so much better than the TV ones. They talk about all possibilities and update with each model run. They don't hype things up but they certainly aren't worried about being a bust so they keep everything on the table.
Eastern PA Weather Authority and Weather NJ on FB are the best, IMO. On Twitter Marc Franz Jr (he works for Weather NJ) is the best.
I'm in Northern VA and I'm really hoping for a snow day off work! I will still have to work from home but I won't have to facilitate 3 hours of meetings if our office is closed tomorrow.

It's funny because of his history, but last year Bolaris was dead on for every storm. I just checked his forecast at Philly.com and he's saying it could go either way. Good thing H got salt the other night.

What's the latest prediction if we do get snow?
I'm annoyed bc I start back teaching classes tomorrow and if the weathers bad but classes are t canceled, it will be a small group that shows. I need to come back to a big group and start with a bang! Lol

I love Eastern PA Weather Authority. They tend to be freakishly reliable. I need to check out Weather NJ. I'm just north of the infamous I-95 Corridor just before it passes into NJ.
I hate snow. I'm in Philly and I guess my plan is to work Monday and maybe work from home on Tuesday. I'm leaving for target now! Maybe it won't be too bad.
Daisy, I think you'll be okay tomorrow but Tuesday might be a wash.
Nooo, I don't want preschool cancelled!
OK, I c&ped Bolaris for you. I don't know why he insists on all caps.
"Weekly Storm Outlook:
BREAKING WEATHER NEWS…MODELS STRONGLY HINTING OF POSSIBLE RAPID CYCLOGENESIS SOMEWHERE JUST OFF THE NEW JERSEY COAST.
RAPID INTENSIFICATION POSSIBLE. NORTHERN AND SOUTH JETS , COULD PHASE AT THE SAME TIME THE VERY DEEP ENERGIZED TROUGH SWINGS NEGATIVE, This could allow for the storm to get captured somewhere between New Jersey and or southeast of Long Island . Euro painting a picture of a prolonged moderate to very heavy snow threat from PHILLY Northward across NYC, LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND .
RIGHT NOW PLACEMENT OF THE BOMB WILL BE CRITICAL IN WHETHER PHILLY AND SURROUND SUBURBS GET THE HEAVY SNOW. EVEN IF STORM DEVELOPS OFF COAST AND TO THE NORTH SOME. WE STILL GET ACCUMULATING SNOW, BUT NOT THE HEAVY SNOW AMOUNTS. RIGHT NOW THE HIGHEST CHANCES OF GETTING HEAVY SNOW WOULD BE FOR COASTAL NEW JERSEY, NORTHWARD TO NYC AND LONG ISLAND.
…SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE ON COMPUTER MODEL TRENS SHOW GFS COMING IN MORE IN LINE WITH EURO FOR AN EXPLOSIVE STORM OFF THE NEW JERSEY COAST BY LATE MONDAY NIGHT. HOWEVER SNOW WILL ARRIVE BY MONDAY MORNING, WITH INCREASING SNOW RATES BY MONDAY NIGHT AND AT LEAST INTO TUESDAY MORNING , POSSIBLY THROUGH THE DAY TUESDAY
THIS FORECAST IS FAR FROM A CERTAINTY BUT NEED TO PUT THIS OUT NOW AS EVENT IS 48 HOURS AWAY."

What??? I had been checking the weather this weekend for the smallish snow we just got Friday and yesterday but somehow this storm has escaped my notice. Crap! I'm off to look at the forecast now.

EPAWA has nailed it for me enough that I only listen to them anymore! I'm in Lehigh and getting a little excited. We did our grocery shopping yesterday morning while the roads were still crappy and it was dead, so we're good to go.
I love J Bo. Following him on Twitter is entertaining. I feel bad for him. He's a good meteorologist.
He is. He just really screwed up with that Storm of the Century stuff that ended up being nothing, and then the transvestites who roofied him. Poor J Bo.

He'll tweet you back too, lol. I asked him a question last year about the roads because we were having a work event. He responded and his prediction was dead on.
I posted a pic of our wedding on our 10-year anniversary on FB and he commented on it. I went a little fan girl then. He's had a tough time of it lately but he really loves what he does. I wish someone would give another chance
