Raise your hand if you're on blizzard watch with me!
DH and DS are SOOOO excited. Me not so much. We have spent the part week cooped up with illnesses and I was looking forward to rejoining the world! DS' attitude noticeably suffers when he spends too much time inside. But there's not much to do for it.
Anyway, if you will be snowed in this week too, do you have any plans or ideas to make the time more enjoyable? I want to make this a fun time, not a stressed out/cranky time.
the boys will play outside some. I have hot chocolate and marshmallows, dh grabbing snacks and drinks from work tonight.
we have a bunch of new activities the boys got for xmas. mosaics, model cars, paper airplanes, new okaydoh and crayola stuff, slime making kits, dress up clothes etc. my sister and Santa loaded them up for the winter. lol
we will also watch a movie or 3. lol. plus they'll have computer and tablet, video game time. it'll be fine.
oh and garage is cleaned out so they can roller skate and stuff.

yeah I try to keep rainy day item year round and winters in New England can be so cold and snowy depending on the year so i really search for fun activities and stash them. they're great at occupying themselves tbh but it really helps to have the choices.
Well, according to 5 different weather forecasts, we are getting somewhere between nothing and 30+ inches at some point between Monday and Wednesday. The weather app on my phone says no snow and showers on Thursday lol.
No plans here. I have to get to work and back twice in this mess. DH will be home with the kids. Woohoo.
You are in Upstate NY, right? I am in Utica and I was laughing about all of the different forecasts! I think we will end up with flurries!
I live in MN. BUt I was more referring to CJ telling us all about her size preference. I mean, over 12" would hurt like hell, I'm just impressed she'll go up to 12.

*raises hand* 24-36 inches We went out today, got some food, liquor and let Reese burn off energy at Barnes and Nobles, Target and the mall---since we will be snowbound for at least two days.

It keeps going from 3 to 6 to 12. We are between the valley and the mountain so we always seem to catch more snow than my parents who live 15 minutes away! Trying to get out today before it gets bad to drive in. I'm tired of my kid missing school though.
That makes sense. I think we are missing all the fun. My kids would really like a snowstorm!
Yeah I know. Every time we get a flurry Joey asks me to please make it snow enough so he can go out and play. But he hasn't had snow pants on in almost 2 months.
Not that I'm complaining. I hate driving in it with a passion.

Yep. I'm East of Albany, almost in Massachusetts. So taking into consideration all the forecasts, I'm betting on around a foot.
I'm in coastal RI and since it's coming in from the south it looks like we are getting the worst of it (for once). We haven't had anything more than a dusting yet. I just wanted like 6 inches. Lol

Yeah it's just been a really strange winter for the NE as a whole. We had a giant storm in November. Then it was freakishly warm for a month. Then freakishly cold for a month. But no snow. And two days ago our forecast said nothing all week and it went from nothing to "OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" in like an hour.
It's like Mother Nature is schizophrenic all of a sudden.
Lol. I saw that we were on blizzard watch when checking Sundays forecast and was like wtf? I told dh and he was like oooookay crazy. Then at noon today the governor declared a state of emergency and forced everyone off the roads by eight and dh was like well guess we are getting this blizzard. Haha.
cjcouple - we're in the same boat as you - 20-30 inches, with a possible 36 in some areas. I hate teh fucking snow. I should really live in Florida from Jan-March.
