I didn't stay sane. Lol. I bounced continually on a yoga ball and went for multiple run/waddles a day trying to get things started. It didn't work either time, and I ended up induced with both.

DD was 10 days overdue. I actually worked an extra week, but it wasn't pretty. I was super uncomfortable thanks to back issues and just a general bitch. My snappy responses to questions like "you are still pregnant" and "why are you still working" got me banished to my office and away from people. It was for the best.
Days 6-10 overdue, I made plans everyday so that way I wasn't just sitting around bitchy and waiting. I walked a ton and DH and I went on a few short road trips. I also threw an epic temper tantrum over my asshole neighbor's barking dog that was outside my window barking for hours while I tried to nap. It was not my finer moment, but I haven't had an issue with her since.
So, I guess if we use the term sane loosely, I did stay pretty sane keeping busy. Also, I took a ton of baths. Dad was transverse and resting on something in my back, so that was the only way I could get comfortable.
I was 10 days overdue aND I have no advice as I didn't stay sane. Everytime I went to the doctor for a check, I cried when there was no dilation progress. I really just felt sorry for myself, ate a lot of takeout and tried to do things like watch tv, make sure all bills We're paid in advance and respond to everyone who wondered (daily) if the baby was here yet. I'm sorry - totally sucks.
I went 11 days over with my first. I had fully planned to go 9 days at least over so I was fine until they made me schedule an induction for 13 days over and 9 days over passed. I kept working until the day I delivered which helped. A lot. It gave me something to do to keep my mind off it.
Oh yeah we went to dinner the night before I had DD1 and the server asked when I was due and I said 10 days ago. They just about had a stroke, it was hilarious.
I was induced at 41w3d (had DS1 the next day). The only thing that kept me even a tiny bit sane was that the winter Olympics were happening at that time. I finished work at 39w and just watched Olympics all day and night. Then, they ended and I was still pregnant and I really went off the handle (I was due Feb 19, so assumed I'd have a February baby. HAHAHAHLOLOZZZZ. NO). So when March came I was a hot mess. Induction started March 1 evening, and I had him March 2 evening (c/s)
