My college boyfriend was friends with him when he was on RW. They went to HS together.
Did you go to school in Ohio? I went to the same college as Miz (but I think he dropped out to do RW?). We have some mutual friends. When I found out he was interviewing to be on RW, I thought there was no way they were going to pick him. Lol.

DH watches wrestling and I always will sit down and watch when Miz is on. I thought he and Mizdow were hilarious last night. He is so ridiculous but it makes me happy because I think back to him on RW and the early challenges.
I also really like that Nick on Grimm was on Road Rules, I used to love that show. He was cute back then, he's hot now
What?? I had no clue. Huh. For some reason, this makes me like him just a smidge less . Doesn't really matter, I guess, since I haven't watched that show in a long time.
I don't like fake wrestling, but I do love that The Miz made his dream come true. That was when the Real World was still cool.
Ok, I'm going to be that person. Yes it is scripted. No, it is not fake.
There is a hilarious video on YouTube of a middle-aged wrestling fan crying during a question and answer panel with some of the old legends. He blubbers, "It's still real to me, dammit." I fully acknowledge I'm going to grow up to be that guy.
the whole scripted part is what gets me. It's fake. I'm not into the performance. I prefer watching real fighting like MMA and UFC.

Re fakeness: my husband told me I just have to start thinking of it as a scripted TV show, not as a sporting event. I could never understand why people liked it knowing it was fake, but thinking of it that way helped a little, lol.
Also I totally love that he made his WWE dreams come true, even if he is slightly irritating.

We watch that Total Divas show on E!, and H always gets mad when I say stuff like "she just ran and jumped into that 'clothesline.'" I do think it looks painful (despite being scripted.)
I took DH to go see Monday night RAW on Dec 29th and I'll admit I had a ton of fun (it was his Christmas gift). I'm not a wrestling fan but the in person shows are awesome. The whole thing is scripted but that's part of what makes it enteraining. Oh and the I love me some Uso's
It's fake. The fightin is choreographed and there is no actual contact with punches, no logical defense attempts, people jump up to be thrown, etc.
Fake.
Sure, it's fake in that sense. However, the guys (and ladies) are executing moves and stunts that require a lot of physical power and training. Not to mention, they do get pretty busted up all the time.

Some of the injuries and surgeries they've gone through are crazy. Rock tearing his abdominal muscle, Cena's elbow surgery, Bryan's neck surgery. Reigns and Barrett just came back from injuries that took months to heal. Those are just current guys. A lot of the older guys are seriously busted and then got hooked on painkillers just to keep going, and that leads to other drugs, which is how you end up looking like Scott Hall.
Basically, you can't jump off of ladders and through tables for years and expect it not to take a toll on your body. The outcome is set, the matches are rehearsed, but it's very easy to get hurt doing that shit.
