The person who won one of my ebay auctions just messaged me "Are these X or Y? I need X." Um, how about you figure that out before you win the auction? WTF? Know I don't know if she is going to pay or not.
Ugh. Read the listing for crying out loud. I would respond with "as shown in the auction you've already won, it's X. Payment is due by ABC date."
DH and I got in an argument last night about unpaid maternity leave. He apparently thinks it's NBD to have to take 12 weeks unpaid, and that I'm annoying when I try to accrue PTO to use for ML. I can't tell if he's annoyed that me saving time will require him taking time off to help with sick kids, etc, or if he hasn't been paying attention at all to our budget to realize that it's not so easy to give up $800 of take home pay each week? Either way, I'm still annoyed this morning.
Fuckkk. I drove down to ct tonight for a 1:30 client meeting and the news is basically telling everyone in NYC to be in their homes by 1. If I don't get out of here by 1, I may not make it home. If I don't stay, I will have wasted a lot of time and company money to come down here for nothing. I'm hoping my boss tells me to leave ASAP. Oh and this client meeting "could make or break my promotion" so no pressure or anything.
Well, if you get stuck you can enjoy some relaxing alone time in your hotel and binge watch tv shows...a night or 2 alone kind of sounds like bliss to me.
We had such a great weekend skiing with friends. DS1 is now a rockstar on the mountain, and I pretty much have to ski as fast as I can to keep up with him! DS2 finally "got" how to ski, and he's now rocking the bunny slope chair lift. I'm pretty sure he'll be doing easy greens by the end of the season. DS3 wanted nothing to do with his skis. We'll try again when we go next time...
Also, really looking forward to a snow day tomorrow!
I purged a bunch of junk this weekend. I am getting closer to my goal of having almost nothing boxed up and stored away. (Exceptions being things like handmedowns that don't fit yet, seasonal decorations, etc.)
It's amazing what freecycle people will take and be happy with!
J has his pre-2's program this morning, then we plan on hibernating the rest of the day. Maybe we'll bake cookies.
H decided to take a sick day today. I might get called in for an emergency hotline shift tonight, but I'm leery of taking it and getting stuck in the city. I have no desire to do an overnight shift.
We helped friends move over the weekend- I am insanely jealous of the 3 way mirror in the walk in closet and walk in pantry.
I helped purge a bunch of stuff that was to be sent to goodwill. My friends MIL went through all of it and saw all the nwt clothes that she had gifted that were in the giveaway pile. I'm glad I left before that went down.
countthestars, hope you can make it home! Can you call your client to confirm the meeting? (And hopefully have them tell you their location is closing at noon?)
Horrible snow squalls this morning, nobody called for them so nobody really planned ahead. Now traffic is horrible. (I am not driving. DH is). Had a meeting at 8:30 and still not there. And have no coffee.

H is on his second leg of his flight home, so barring any unforeseen (fluke) circumstances, he'll be home this morning, right on time!
It figures, that day that the weather is totally fine, he's delayed 6 hours getting up to NY but the day that the weather could have gotten him stuck, he's right on time.
My H analyzed the weather (lol) and he said it seems like it will snow a little this morning, slow down for a couple of hours and then pick up heavier after that. So maybe not a bust?

That's what it sounded like to me, that it's not really going to affect the morning commute, but the afternoon may be messy. I'm so glad H is on his way home and gets to deal with pick-up. I can ride the Metro and not have to worry about it, for the most part.

H and I got a data plan and smart phones for the first time yesterday. We now have both cable AND smart phones. Could we BE any more modern?
Also, the dog puked her entire breakfast this morning. Of course right after H left so I had to clean it. And of course right on the ONE CARPET we have in the ENTIRE HOUSE. WTF dog.
Taking DS to the doctor to talk about asthma today. Not sure what to think, but this kid coughs and coughs and coughs for weeks whenever he gets anything resembling a cold. That will get me to work 2 hours late. No snow, though. It's another bizarro melting day here. The rest of winter is going to be a mess of ice.

Pretty sure they're encouraging everyone to get home by 1 to allow "others still on the road and emergency equipment to get to their destinations safely."
I'm in the NYC suburb area, and we're not expecting to get slammed with the blizzard conditions until this evening/overnight. I'm not saying it'll be pretty - I'd expect heavy traffic - but you may be able to make it home. Be safe!

I'm in my office (I usually WFH) and my boss is being super breezy. "oh, just leave when we are done with the meeting!" lol. Okay easy for you to say with your 10 min commute . I'm sure I will be fine but I'm still annoyed!
Whyyyyyy does DS keep shaving 5 mins off of his wake-up time everyday for the last several weeks . This morning was 5:11 am
I'm WFH because I'm anticipating daycare to call an early dismissal for the impending storm, and then I'm guaranteeing I'm home tomorrow and we'll see about Wednesday. There's a big difference between 1 foot of snow and 26"+ in these forecasts!

DH is suffering from a man cold. He told me his plans today were to take DS to school, then go back to bed and sleep all day to try to sleep off his cold. Uh, I feel crappy, too, DH. When I said so, he said, "Well, I have to be on the road in 4 days, so I have to get better." Really? 4 days? That's you're reasoning? Ugh. He's normally a very supportive, 50/50 parenting partner, but he's useless when he has a cold.
DD is also sick. She looks pathetic. We're watching Frozen. I'm guessing it's the first of many movies today.
I need to do a ton of laundry today in case we lose power in snowmageddon.

Today is day 1 of 5 for my husband's business trip. I realize 5 days isn't that long, but the baby has a cold so my plans of getting together with my friends for play dates probably won't happen since I don't want to get my friends kids sick.
I feel like a super-bitch right now. I have a training presentation that I put together that my partner @ work and boss are giving to a new audience today. They told me not to worry about it since I'm almost 39wks pg and they weren't sure if I'd be here today.
So, I did no prep other than walking them through it. I just got a call with a "ooooh, good you're there. Roads are awful I'm not going to make it in" and a "schools are cancelled I need to stay home with the kids" from the other.
So my huuuuuuge self is now giving a 3 hour training/presentation session to 50 people all by myself. Is it wrong that I hope my water breaks in the next few hours?

We are ready for snow. Since I'm home with the kids regardless, although I'm positive preschool will be canceled tomorrow, I'm excited to have DH home at least Tuesday, maybe Wednesday.
I'll be annoyed if we prepped for snow and we get nothing. I'm excited now.
Also going to try to get the baby, now 13 weeks in more of a schedule. Fingers crossed it works. 13
M is at such a fun age. I want to hang out with him all the time. He's so obsessed with Biscuit. I think his first crawling experience will be to chase the dog.
I guess this means we've escaped newborn hell?
Is it like suddenly one day you looked at him and were like "oh hey! You're a person! You're fun and I like you!"
If so, then yes you have. Achievement unlocked, congrats!
OMG I don't think an elephant could have been louder than DH getting ready for work this morning. He woke me up at 5:30, looking for a shirt in the closet next to my head, using our bathroom multiple times, slamming the sock drawer shut. He woke DS up at 6:30 (over an hour early) by stomping around the house coughing incessantly. Use a cough drop dude! JFC. I tried unsuccessfully to get DS to go back to sleep in our bed. DS kept asking me "dada ok? Dada sick? Dada cough." I know little man, I know.
your h needs a swift punch in the nuts. Or twelve.

I fell asleep so hard at 9 PM I didn't even hear my H leave for work at 10:15. It was glorious. Today it's supposed to be in the 40's so I hope to leave work at 4 and try to run a few miles outside. I signed up for a 7K race and I just don't know what I was thinking, I can't even run a mile!
Huge hugs, @awinter and to the other mamas of sickies today. Feel better, all!
Add me to the sick club. DH thought he had some food poisoning Saturday night, but turns out it was a stomach virus because guess who is sick today? At least this will help my diet bet goal? lol.
I have caught the slime DS had. No wonder he was miserable. I'm sitting here with a tea waiting for the Dayquil to kick in. I promised exchange student I'd take him shopping today. Which is like a 5 hour adventure in his world. I don't feel like it but the alternative is him being all mopey and making stupid comments like "Have you ever had exchange students before? We like to do things! I'm here to get out!"
I get it dude. You're number 8. The mall while you love it is not really getting out. And while I'm happy to take you places either me or FIL have taken you somewhere every Monday since you've arrived in August. Go make some friends!
So I will go. I will get a giant Starbucks and a pedicure and hide out for awhile. Maybe a facial with my Ulta card.
Kids are at DC and I'm fully expecting one of them to get sent back home but my MIL said she'd graciously go get them id needed. I love her.
