I had a spare half hour before meeting the bus so stopped at Market Basket on the way home. It wasn't bad at all and now we have hot chocolate, muffins, and cookies.
I'm trying not to get parking lot rage at the moment. Instead of grabbing a guest spot so as many cars as possible are on one side of our condo lot, the idiot at the end took her usual. Several of us were on the other side wipers up, clearly in for the night. I hope it doesn't screw us for plowing. Sometimes they will if there are two empty spots and other times they won't. *I'd rather get annoyed than talk to her. Plus if they do plow it, this may work out better in terms of getting to my car.
I just turned the heat up to 78 in case we lose power. We are in the 60-70% chance of at least two feet of snow area and there are trees everywhere.. Last time one snapped a power pole in half and another hit the edge of one of the other townhouse buildings.
I spent the afternoon making black bean-cashew chili, in addition to boiling eggs and prepping some other things that can be eaten quickly and easily while we're housebound.
Then around 3, I called DH and asked him to come home and meet DD at her bus stop because it was coming down so hard. I didn't want to head out with the baby. DD's bus ended up being over an hour late. So glad I wasn't standing in the snow that whole time with DS!
Just north of Boston here. The girls have been using the anywhere chair as a slide. If we can get through the storm with no broken bones, I'll consider it a success. I bought Nutella and honey nut Cheerios at target today, so we're pretty well stocked

Sorry teatimefor2. MH is working regardless unless we lose power. He works remote for his jobs most days anyway-so tomorrow is just another day. EXCEPT for me. I'll have both kids home all day PLUS him. Snow days would be cool if we could all just play in the snow together, bake cookies and drink hot chocolate lol
Checking in from Ocean County. I went into work, but DH stayed home since DC was probably going to close early. My office let me out a whole 30 mins early. wamp wamp.
Western Philly burbs here...nothing happening here yet. We are on the cusp of the map that could get anywhere from 4-14". I imagine I'll be at work tomorrow, but perhaps with a delay.
All except 1 of our patients cancelled today and my assistant left at 4 pm. I left close to 6 and instead of driving north on the Parkway to get home in 15 min, I had to go south bc DD and I stay at my mom's in central Jersey during the week. Parkway was mostly empty but it got bad after exit 143. Drove home 40 mph and then couldn't even get on 287 because they were plowing it or something. Took the local roads instead and drove 20 mph for like 30 min. What should be a 40 min drive took me 1.5 hrs.
My husband has off tomorrow and wanted me and DD to return home but after my drive tonight, hells no. We are staying put right here.
Serious question: Why are people waiting until now to stock up? Didn't this storm forecast come out on Saturday or something?
Because people are crazy. I don't understand waiting in line for hours to go into a place that I'm pretty sure would already be ransacked.
During snowmageddon here (dc) a few years ago, we lived across the street from a grocery store. The day it was supposed to start, it was insanity. 35 hours later, it was totally empty of people and fully restocked. I waltzed right in and bought everything I needed.

I did all my shopping on Saturday late afternoon and roads were empty, stores were empty. But I was out because I needed to shop, not because of the storm. I didn't learn about the storm until Sunday which is when the insanity started.
DD and I drove past Costco this morning and it was like the end of the world just to get into the parking lot.

Just heard of the news that NJ Transit stopped at 8:00 pm and doesn't expect to start again until Thursday. That seems extreme to me...maybe DH will be forced to be home. I guess there is also the bus.... Just started snowing here again.

Isn't the bus also NJ Transit?
I thought there are also not NJ Transit buses. "Red and Tan" and some other lines?
We are in the bullseye on the MA maps for 30-36". I'll believe it when I see it. So far we have a few inches. Plow banks will be fun to shovel tomorrow. They just went through and it's already above dh's hood. Definitely getting windy.

I'm up nursing and it's not even snowing, I think this is a bust fit NNJ. Frankly, I'm annoyed at this point that likely DS1 could have gone to preschool tomorrow and it's canceled. Due to our personal travel and illness, with tomorrow he will have missed two weeks.
