faith194 did anyone ever mention salicylate sensitivity to you? Just wondering because my DS had an allergic reaction to Ibuprofen and breaks out randomly. His reaction is hives deep under the skin- Angioedema.
His primary triggers are Ibuprofen and pineapple but eggs too much apple juice can cause a flare up.
I have not heard of that before. The allergic reaction to Motrin came up like three months after his original hospital visit when talking to his allergist(His upper lip swelled up a lot and the doc said he was anaphylactic at the ER- we could not tell. The sweeping didn't go down, so we were admitted and stayed three days). I am going to look into it!
Sorry to butt in, but have they tested him for Chronic Urticaria? (Chronic Hives). That could explain the hives that show up for no reason then go away.

Can you post pics of the rash? DH is a dermatologist. thejen626Â
It's in my post history, the pics in the link look just like what her rash was. The Pedi diagnosed it as a rash that only occurs on one side of the body. They gave us Benadryl and a lotion and it is almost all cleared up.
I'm so glad to see you've got a diagnosis and a treatment plan! It's wonderful that you've got help to keep other things running smoothly at home while you're busy at the hospital. Hopefully she has a speedy and smooth recovery!

I'm glad you have an answer. Hospital days are exhausting. Take a little time to get away and let DH or a friend stay for a bit, even just a few minutes outside for fresh air and a diet coke. It's okay to and you need to nourish yourself to be able to stay strong.
