It does look insane right? I saw it on buzzfeed the other day and tried it. It works! I mean, not perfectly (or maybe my dark circles are just THAT bad), but pretty well. Try it!
The color that she used is pretty intense, but the idea is right. To neutralize the undertones of dark circles, you want to choose the opposite color to balance it out. Then you can use a more "normal" skin toned concealer or foundation on top to blend it, if needed. If you hear of people using color correctors or salmon concealers, it's the same idea.
If you want to try but aren't sure what corrector color to use, look at what color you want to correct then use the opposite color on the color wheel.
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
For anyone interested, Pixi (Target) makes a good corrector in a shade called brightening peach, and Bobbi Brown does some really nice ones in a much wider range of colors.

All of this. A Sephora makeup artist used this technique on me once to cover my massive dark circles, with a lighter orange shade than the one in the video, and my eyes never looked so good.
I can't get the volume to work on my phone. So if I have purplish circles what color corrector would I use?
If they're purplish-blue, salmon or peach will most likely be your best bet. How light or dark the salmon/peach is will depend on how fair or deep your skin tone is.

I am super fair skinned so I will have to find a One that works. Any products recs?

I'm very fair-skinned as well. Pixi's corrector in brightening peach is good, but it's a tad dark so I need to use a lighter skin-toned concealer or foundation on top. It's inexpensive though, so it's not a bad place to start if you're unsure. Bobbi Brown is really popular and has more shades. Plus, if you go to a Sephora you can try the testers. Most people do well with salmon or peach. I've tried yellow, but it always makes my undereyes look gray. I think because skin naturally has so many colors mixed together. My undereyes are mostly purplish-blue, but a little red, and even a little brown, lol. Shades like the ones below just even everything out and really brighten.

That's insane! I'm going to look more closely when I take my makeup off to see what color my bags are. They always just look dark to me, no particular color. Haha

And I agree with namasteak, Laura Mercier makes great concealers, as well.
Awesome! Thank you so much, I will try these.
Sure, no problem!
And I just realized that I'm a dummy and the one I said was corrector and concealer is actually a concealer and powder duo. But the regular concealer is nice if you also wanted to try that, lol.

I have a concealer/corrector in a peachy yellow that works great for my bluish-purple circles. It makes my foundation look 1000x smoother around my eye area when I use it first.
